I don't know if he does Lissie? We are travelling quite a distance to him, our first FS corresponds with Dr DeAmbrosis and we will (hopefully) only have to go down for pick up and transfer.
FS#1 says he has an agreement in place, so we don't need to go for an initial visit, but he said we can go for one if we want. I don't really want to, as it will mean a plane trip and possibly an overnight stay, and I think that money might be better saved towards our first cycle.

I had a lap a couple of weeks ago, and he came over to my bed to check on me and have a chat even though he's not my doctor and has never met me. He seemed lovely. other than that I have no idea I'm sorry!
Hi Nic
I don't see Dr Ambrosis, i go through City Fertility in Brisbane instead, although my GP raves about him, and i trust her opinion.. Hope this helps. He is meant to be really down to earth. Good Luck ..

Hi My wife & I saw Dr Warren De Ambrosis last week .He is located at the QFG in Wickham terrace in Brisbane. My wife & I both liked him as he is very down to earth and actually quite funny .He makes you feel a little more at ease ( from a boy perspective). He will give you the facts and not beat around the bush and will advise you after initial testing & interview if he thinks he can get you pregnant or not . In our case he said yes and that is with me having a very low sperm count. ( but no guarantee ). The SCSA method to be used. He explains the process to both parties and i can recommend that if you do see him to ensure you fully understand what he writes down or prescribes as he has the normal Dr's illegibal scrawl . Oh and be prepared to like Country Music ...
Good Luck

we see Dr DeAmbrosis for the first time next wednesday.a bit nervous and excited
I know a couple of girls who have been to see him and they have nothing but good things to say.
Apparently a very lovely man.

I was at a friends place and she had his name up on her fridge. I can only assume she went thru him, and she has two incredible little boys (one's not quite 1 and the other is the same age as my son - 2)!

I was under warren from April, very down to earth and very loving person. All the best with your journey
Regards,
Reena

I am so happy for you - 12 wks prg!
I saw Warren for close to 10 years for gynaecological & fertility reasons and can't recommend him highly enough. My aunt also saw him for a number of years and she always spoke highly of him. A friend who was long term TCC saw him and now has twins via IVF and another bub au natural and my friend speaks highly (well actually she raves) of him.
Ultimately you are the best person to decide what you think as the relationship with your caregiver is personal. but it can be reassuring to have good feedback from others.
Warren is knowlegable and has a wealth of experience. I found his bedside manner to be caring, down to earth and a bit cheeky and self deprecating at times and he usually ran on time.
good luck.
Hi, I have been to see Warren for gynaecological reasons and most recently for a second opinion on IVF-related issues.
He has got a very good reputation for producing results. My endocrinologist got pregnant with triplets from seeing him and calls him the `rain-maker'. My naturopath says he has more hits on the board than most, though some of his peers at QFG think him a bit of a renegade. He is one of the founders of QFG. He was resposible for quads in a lady (who had been trying for years and years) which the press made a fuss about a little while ago.
He is very frank and forthright. He calls a spade a spade. I am currently undergoing my third stimulated IVF/ICSI cycle and if this one doesn't work I am thinking of changing my FS to see him. And I love my FS but it doesn't hurt to try something new.
Hope this helps.
After 4 operations with a very well known Sydney surgeon to have grade 5 endometriosis removed, he referred me to Warren who I saw in July to start IVF. He was absolutley brilliant... and luckily for us we got a BFP on our first cycle. I am now 16 weeks.
During my treatment my feelings towards him were, if he can't get us pregnant no one will and I knew that if it never worked I would of felt satisfied that we had done everything in our power to have a child... with Warrens help...
Good luck, the man is a genius!![]()
Hi Ladies
I know I'm a bit late on this thread but having read all your thoughts on Dr DeAmbrosis I've decided to see him as our IVF specialist (if I need to do IVF). I have an appointment on the 17th Feb as I'm due to have a lap in Jan to see if my tubes are blocked.
Good choice Porche and all the best with your lap!
