Help keep me motivated with VBAC

Hi everyone long time no see.

I have been very busy with family and friends coming over to visit and I have had very strong BH to early and I have been to visit the hospital a few times but all is good now.

For some reason I am loosing motivation in having a VBAC, has anyone else had this problem? I am not sure why but I am thinking it is easier to have a c/s as I think I am scared that there are going to be complications so just get it over and done with.

I have also been trying to keep active and go walking every day or every second day at the shops while the weather is bad. I have stopped doing research as I feel I have done all I can as I just have to let nature take it course now.

I also think I am over being pregnant and I just want this baby out lol I am about 24 weeks pregnant but I am finding it a bit tough with a toddler and feeling so tired all the time.

What can I do to stay motivated? I know I really want to try for a VBAC and I have given other people inspiration to try for one to in the future. I have taken on a doula I just haent seen her for a while as I have been so busy.

I am really after some support and motivation to keep me going until the end of this pregnancy and to try my hardest for a VBAC.

    TIA

    Go HotMumma, Go HotMumma!!!

You can do it - and you know what - you will feel SOOOOO good afterwards. It is very empowering to achieve your goal, especially with birth, and you have to do it to know what that feels like. I can't wait to read that you have had a great VBAC and how good you feel about that.

Time to get in touch with your Doula and let her know!!!

Also, it is tiring and exhausting with a toddler and a new baby recovering from a c/s - you have the 6 week recovery period too - if you have a VBAC - you can get straight up! It might seem hard now, but the demands of two is more, needing to get up more frequently and throughout the night.

You can do this! The end result is sooooo worth it!

    GO GO GO!!
Can you organise some extra rest time...I found that at 24 weeks, with a toddler, I needed lots of extra rest. Basically I could get one thing accomplished in a day, usually in the morning, and that was enough. If your toddler takes only a short nap, perhaps a babysitter could take him/her to the park or just play with him while YOU nap!
I agree with Kelly, I think you should ring your doula and have a visit or chat with her.
Acknowledge those negative thoughts and fears, but don't dwell on them. You have done the research and you don't need to do any more. It's all in place...just let it happen. Nurture yourself as well as your family.
A VBAC is an empowering experience. You are going to be part of one very soon! I have had 2--both fantastic.

Thanks girls you are all very motivating. I know that I dont want another c/s with the recover time I want to be able to get up straight away afterwards and feel human not like a cripple. I know I can do it I just must have hit the mid way slump I think.

I will contact my doula as we are due to meet up any time now so I am sure she will hellp me get back on track.

Thanks again girls I know I can do this I am just having doubts.

At this point I cant really get anyone to look after DD much as the inlaws are very busy with day surgery and going on holiday and my mum works and my youngest sister is busy with uni stuff and my other sister might here and there but she is sick at the moment.

I SO know how you are feeling! TBH I felt much the same in 2nd tri. It's hard because it all seems so far away & it is hard to keep up your motivation for such a long time. I'm sure you'll be like me though & find your motivation again when the time comes.

I think about what it will be like when Em comes to visit me in hospital. AFter a C/S it would be a nightmare. After a VBAC would be wonderful!

I went to visit a friend who had just had a bub yesterday. Even though she had a REALLY tough VD (36 hours, forceps delivery) she looked SO well. I just couldn't believe how quickly she recovered!

It WILL be worth it! I hope to have a fantastic VBAC story to motivate you soon!
