Shoegal - I am sorry that I cant help, but I wanted to send you and shoebaby a big. I will be thinking of you and hoping for the best... Hang in there.

Hi everyone, I really need some advice. I had a BT yesterday to check HCG levels. FS clinic says I am 6 weeks and 1 days pregnant, rather than 7 weeks like in my ticker (GP’s date).
Anyway, at 5 weeks my HCG was 6900 and my progesterone was 80.
At 6 weeks (yesterday) my HCG was 27600 and my progesterone was only 37.
I’m starting progesterone pessaries tonight in an effort to sustain the pregnancy. Does this just prolong the inevitable?? (i.e. miscarrying). Has anyone had any experience with progesterone sustaining a pregnancy?
Also, shouldn’t my HCG be a lot higher? I thought it was meant to double every 48 hours in early pregnancy?
Please help, I am so worried…
Mods - sorry, I didn't know where to post this.

Hi
I think Hcg levels double every 2-3 days, so that number may be fine.
I don't know about the progesterone, sorry.
I have my fingers crossed for you and hope things work out.

Rufi - thankyou, your post made my cry.
Marcellus - thankyou. I phoned my FS clinic again to ask about the levels doubling every 48 hours and the nurse said that dropped off after a while and that she was perfectly happy with my HCG level.
So I start tonight and if I don't MC over the next week then I'll be having a BT next Thursday to check HCG and progesterone again.
Will update then.

Just thought I would update:
Symptoms disappeared on Monday so I had a BT.
HCG 58000 (it was 27600 last Thursday).
Progesterone 57 (it was 37 last Thursday).
Having our very first scan next Wednesday 22 August.
DH and I were grinning like idiots at lunchtime! So excited, and relieved! He thinks it's girl since it is causing us so much worry!
Thankyou Rufi and Marcellus for your kind thoughts.
Oh Yay on the rising levels.
I am so happy for you too...
Now we just need to get you to next wednesdays scan and see aplease.....

Well, just make sure you let me know how you go, cause i have everything crossed so tightly for you, that I will be needing to get blood flow back at some time!!!

Ha ha! Of course! Thanks again for being so caring.
*hugs*
8mths ago we were in the same position and tonight our little bundle is due to be born. We are heading in at 6.30pm to be induced
The progesterone pessaries fixed things right up and since then everything has progressed wonderfully. Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy, enjoy every moment as it goes extremely fast - only feels like a few months ago that i found out i was pregnant.
Haha Funny your hubby should say this as ours is a little girl! If you start craving salt'n'vinegar chips paint the room pink![]()
That's great news Shoegal! I'm glad your levels are rising and you can relax a bit more now!
Great news Shoegal!Very glad to hear it and hope it's smooth sailing from here.
Shoegal, glad to hear that your levels are rising. When I found out I was pg my prog was 33 so they started me on prog pessaries which helped the pg along. Good luck with your scan!!
Lanaktb – thankyou! That is so inspiring! This is our first bubba and I still can’t imagine being right at the end of 9 months and hopefully delivering a beautiful baby in March. Can’t wait to read your birth announcement. PS – had salt’n’vinegar chips last night after reading your post!
Willow and Marcellus – thanks! I’ve relaxed a huge amount now.
Lynn – I was surprised to read how many pregnancies are sustained through progesterone, makes me feel better that it is not so unusual. I have to say I have been stalking your posts and just wanted to wish you well with *Hope*.
Thanks everyone.
