wow - can't believe it is already september & that spring is here - not that we really had a cold winter here
eliana is on the verge of crawling - well i think she is - she is leaning all the way over from sitting up & using her arms for support but her legs get caught up under her - she has discovered how funny peekaboo is & will use just about anything to hide behind - she is also really interested in putting things inside boxes, toy containers etc pulls her hand away then looks in & gets suprised by finding something she just put in there!!!
i just read through the list of who is in this age group & there are a few with birthdays soon - hope all the plans are going well
lovely day here hooray, the wind has blown away, thought we were gunna get a visit from a big gum tree the other night.
melbewoohoo on eliana nearly crawling - now you will have to keep your floors clean lmao, i mop mine every second day if i don't lani is filthy and if i take her out she looks disgusting and people must think omg she lives in a pigsty lmao. i personally hate the crawling stage, i do prefer them walking as they are upright, thus not as close to the ground to put EVERYTHING in their mouths and their clothes don't get as dirty. i find it strange when people say oh no you will have your hands full when their walking i always think wtf do you think they do when they are crawling - they are still moving it's not like they crawl in the one spot - 8-[
michellehow are you feeling today? i bet you are a bit sad because of tommorrow, are you like me, on the day before and their birthday's thinking back to what was happening 12mths ago and getting goosebumps and soooooooo emotional, on the day of their birthdays i clock watch all day and when the time comes when they were born i just sit quietly and have a little cry lmao i am a crazy woman. how many have you got coming to jessica's party? our rsvp date is today, so far we have had around 20 (which is 4 families) that can't come but that is fine as it brings it down to around 80 - just wish others would rsvp so i can start organising food quantities. if i don't get on tommorrow, am sure i will tho lmao wishing jessica a very happy fun filled birthday.
bonhi there how are you all going. i love spring too - it makes me want to get out and about - i am actually going to spring clean the house from top to bottom next week in prepation of lani's birthday. dh's bosses are coming so i want to make sure everything looks nice. i will take some fertility vibes if you are spreading them around lol.
hello to dachlostar, snowy, lara, pee and anyone else i missedhope you are all going well and the ms isn't to bad for dachlostar and snowy and all your bubs are fit, healthy and raring to go.
Well here I am for the last time! Well officially that is...I am sure I will have to pop my head back in every now and then just to sticky beak LOL.
Michelle- I was just telling Jessica how this time last year she was in my tummy and we had taken the other kids to nanna's to sleep, LOL. SHe just listened carefully and stuck her finger in my mouth. She was born at 6.06am tomorrow so let's see if I wake up then or if she does. I honestly cannot believe the time has flown so quickly, because the birth is fresh in my mind like it was just yesterday. These are the times I feel I need to have another baby! LOL
We are starting to have people tell us whether they are coming or not. I am waiting on55 adults & 10 kids. We have 23 adults and 12 kids so far and 9 adults and 10kids not coming. So still heaps to hear from. RSVP was Sunday but I am sure some people won't let me know and I will have to call them.
Bon- hope you and the kids are well, I love spring too, the cherry blossom is so gorgeous and the warm sun, and spring showers. Greta baby having weather and also all the baby animals arrive too.
Snowy hope you guys are going ok with the move adn that you are feeling well
Dasch hope the same for you health wise and i did laugh at yasin running, I know exactly how that feels.
Mel- yeah for Eliana almost crawling! She will be about bf you know it.
Jessica has popped her 5th tooth out without me realising, and has a mouth full of bumps, she's in a hurry now to cathc up, she only got her 3rd tooth at 10mths.
I want to say thanks to all you girls who haev been with us for the past 12mths + the pregnancy too. it has been lovely to have friends to chat with and sympahise with and share laughs with. I will see you all sooner than you want in the next forum.
See ya also to Pee and Ryley and lara and Alana. See you soon
:happybday: Jessica. :blowcandle:
Michelle, I hope you have a great day. Your little baby is growing up so fast which makes me a bit sad because it means that my baby will be a toddler soon too. Did you wake up at 6 am or not? It sounds like your party is going to keep you busy
Bon, I love spring too. It was a perfect day yesterday for the first day of spring but not so nice today. al the Jasmine outside the flat is out so it smells heavenly.
Mel, how exciting that Eliana is almost crawling but a bit scary too because once they are mobile you're so much busier. Yasin still hasn't really caught onto putting things into things yet. The books say he should so sometimes I worry that he might be a bit slow in some areas but other times i think that the books only talk about averages and there's no such thing as an average baby.
Michelle, it sounds like you're going to be flat out with party planning too. I'm glad the gum tree didn't visit you. when I was little we used to have a huge tree in the garden outside my bedroom that creaked every time it was windy. I was so scared of it that on stormy nights I used to go and sleep in the dining room under the table or the drinks cabinet. In the end my Mum chopped it down for me.
Yasin is getting a real temper. If I take anything away from him he screams at me and if I offer him something in exchange he throws it away as hard as he can :-s . He's not yet one and already throwing tanties and acting like a brat. Dad says I've got the baby I deserve because I was the same. His latest game is throwing things onto the kitchen tiles so they make a lovely sound. I can't say I enjoy it much so I usually put him back in the longue asap.
We moved him into his cot this week and so far he's doing really well. He needs resettling a few times a night and usually ends up in bed with us by morning because its easier to just bring him into bed than to resttle him in the cot and late at night all I care about is getting some sleep. I'm not too happy with DH because he's been out of the house most nights this week and left me to cope with Yasin settling into the cot on my own.
Thanks Dasch for the well wishes, sadly you're right , mine growing up means all of yours do too. Bugger about that. Jessica has a bad temper too, learnt it from the others though! Don't worry too much about Yasin's development, he seems to be doing plenty as far as I can see, he may not be interested in certain things so why do them LOL.
Well girls I hope you all enjoy this last little peek into babyness, I did and I am sad to see that we won't be having another first bday at my place ! *sigh* What do you do though? Can't just keep having babies cos I love babies LOL, Maybe I could hire my place out for 1st bday's and pretend....
was meaning to pop in yesterday to wish Jessica a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope she had a lovely day.
i am so seriously thinking of training to become a midwife, cause i don't think even if i have another one i will know when to stop, maybe being a midwife will satisfy my newborn addiction lmao. well i guess i will be seeing you in the next forum in 12 more days for us boohoo.
dachlostar - yup don't worry about yasin they all have there own little personalities and they are all so different just like grown ups lol. hope you are feeling well with your prg and running around after yasin, i sympathise with you i remember all too well being prg with jay when jess was only little, i was so glad she was still having 2 naps a day gave me a good chance for a nanna nap.
i better get off here quickly i have 4 loads of washing on the line that would be dry and there are huge black clouds threatening to burst open with rain.
PMSL Michelle, glad you pointed that out. What a bonus, best I see what can be done about that LOL.
Prob have to pick a ticker that counts down to the 2nd bday, just what I want to think about lOL The midwife training sounds great, not sure if it would be for me though cos I do remember a midwife once saying that you also need to be able to deal with not so favourable births (still born and other complications) and I am not sure if I could cope. IYKWIM. But it may be great for you, ask Kelly about it cos she is training to do that/something similar.
michelle - ticker looks better. re midwife thing, really think i am getting a bit old for all that. ideally if i did it i would not work in the birth suites (because of the things that go wrong) i would just like to work in the nursery and cuddle the bubbas lmao. when i had lani they were heaps of agency midwives on at night and alot of them were telling me that they only do specific things - like some are not fully trained up to do the birthing suites etc, very interesting but as i said am thinking i am a little old for all that oh well.
just had to tell you all something so cute and funny, lani has discovered her tongue - the last couple of days she keeps sticking her tongue out and grabbing it with her hand to pull it out of her mouth, she spends most of the day flicking it about like a lizard or just letting it hang out - the dribble it is causing is horrendous. she looks so funny but i hope she starts sticking it back in for her birthday party lmao, can't have her crawling around letting it all hang out lmao.
OMG!! I have missed Jessicas birthday! I am sooooooooooo sorry!! Happy birthday sweet girl!! I hope your party is fun on Sunday!!
I have missed so much sorry girls!! I am so flat out at uni atm. Two assingments due tomo (well today now- I have just finished ONE!! at midnight!!) another thurs then two next week....
Well Ryley is WALKING!! Not very far or very fast but he is taking around 1-3 at a time. Yay for my big boy!! I am out of here in three days...
My boy is so big now.... Ahhhh sigh. I will chat more tomo!!
bon - hard to believe it is spring - this year has gone way too fast
mooshie - yeah im not looking forward to eliana getting dirty crawling around - we seem to get heaps of dust here & eliana hates the vacuum cleaner she screams so i got a dust buster & she hates that too - oh well guess she will be clean on weekends & dirty during the week - i too have thought about being a midwife - may still look into it - lol at lani lizard!
michelle - hope jessica had a great birthday & that her party was fun - i dont want eliana to turn one so i like your idea of having 1st birthday parties
dach - how is yasin & his temper - at least you aren't eliana cause eliana can be the same - i guess it's a stage they go through & hopefully will grow out of it soon - hope your pregnancy is going well
pee - that is great that ryley is walking - hope you got your assignments finished
i had a busy weekend - went to see saturday night fever the musical on saturday - it was fantastic & those guys had hot bodies =P~ eliana slept the whole time for DP! i think DP enjoyed his first father's day - i got him a fish & some silly fathers day presents & we had lunch with some friends - eliana is loving to dance now - she bops away on her bum & puts her arms up in the air - very cute to watch - still hasn't actually crawled but manages to work her way through all her toys discarding the ones to the side that she doesn't want so you can see where she has been!
Never too late Michelle- I know a lady who is 46 and in her 2nd yr of Prim teaching course! But I do understand what you mean cos that lady has finished having kids and her youngest is at school, so she isn't tied up with babies. Hope you arre lucky this month in the ttc.
Pee- don't worry about missing the bday, I will say Happy bday to Ryley now so I don't miss his LOL. Hope the assignments are all done, and the pressure is off, how are the party plans going?
mell- sounds like your girl isn't really caring whether you want her to stay still LOL. yay at a good night out. A fish for DP? A live one?
Hugs to everyone and better keep moving, I am home alone tonight (Husbandless not kidless) and I am about to organise dinner, I was thinking numberghetti, it's the kids fav after all, who am I to cook vegies when they'd rather eat timmed stuffLOL
Hi everyone, I hope you're all well. Yasin kept me up for hours last night and I feel like a wreck. I wish he would learn to sleep - every night I tell him that if he doesn't go back to sleep soon I'm going to start controlled crying but I never do.....he must know its an empty threat by now.
I hope al the dads enjoyed thier father's day. DH got a blue tooth thing for the car and Yasin said his first word. It was 'no' but it came out more as neehh. He can't even talk properly and already he's talking back #-o . We went to DFO on saturday to check it out. It was pretty lame but I got a really nice Pumpkin Patch maternity top for a bargin price. Some idiot tried to squeeze into the parking space next to us and because he (I'm asuming it was a man) couldn't fit he reverse parked at an angle so he could get his door open but there was no way we could get our door open. I was so cross that while DH was putting Yasin away and crawling in through the passenger side I let all the air out of one of his tires. I did a great job of it too, by the time DH was ready to go the wheel was sitting on its rim. DH left a nasty note just so that he knew why. I'm not usually so vindictive but sometimes I just get sick of other people's selfishness.
Mel, the new photo of Eliana in your ticker is so cute. Yasin loves dancing too but he's a bit shy. I was at a friend's place and she put some music on but he just sat there. Maybe its because he's used to R'n'B not dance music. He's got two moves - one where he puts his hands in the air and bobs around (he does this sitting and standing) and the other he puts one hand on the side of his head and the other in the air and bops about.
What kind of fish did you get your DH?
Pee, good-luck with all your assignments. i don't know where you find the time and energy to do it all.
Michelle, maybe you could find another job that involves working with babies that isn't midwifery. I think the shiftwork would kill me. What about child-care or working at a sleep school. In NSW they have home-based child care where you can care for a small amout of children in your own home. Maybe you could do that and only accept babies.
LOL at Lani and her tongue. DH taught Yasin to stick his tongue out about a month ago and if someone sticks their tongue out at him he does it back.
I hope Snowy is going OK with her move and Wolf is settling in OK.
I was going to go and see the ECHN today about my little monster's crazy sleep but I just realised that its wednesday and the drop in day is thursday. I think I'm too late to make an appointment for today #-o she's always booked out.
mitch - do you have a recipe for your numberghetti - lol - im just as bad & eliana gets tinned food when i can't think of what to cook her - hope the kids were good for the rest of the night
dach - we have a DFO that opened here yesterday - will eventually get around to it - there is a big outlet store on the gold coast & sometimes you get great bargains other times there is nothing - hope yasin slept better last night & that you got a chance to catch up on your sleep - thanks about the photo of eliana it was taken on fathers day
it was a real live fish i got DP for fathers day - just a siamese fighting fish that he has called myron! he is so funny talking to it :-s eliana has decided it is fun to wake up at 6am - it is killing me getting up at that time so DP has been looking after her but i still can't get back to sleep - she still isn't crawling but leaves a trail of destruction through her toys
there is a huge bush turkey outside - never seen it here before & i need to go get DP's works clothes out of the wash (the laundry is under our house) every time i go to go out the door he comes towards me! guess his washing can stay in the machine
