    endo and natural treatments\

i'm in that part of my cycle that some of you may be oh so familiar with - AF has been and gone, but the pain is oh so wonderful NOT! can't sleep for the pain!

I'm booked for the 17 december for lap, and are hoping that it will bring some relief to this bloody pain. arghhh! i have 7 others, the last one 7 years ago. i have been very lucky to be blessed with three children. but unfortunately for me, my endo has gotten worse after each child! go figure! not sure if it has anything to do with having delivered via c-section or not.probably. I requested that while they where in there this last time round to have a tubal ligation done. AF returned when Aston was 3 months old, much to my dismay! and he has been fully breast fed since birth, so I was rather unimpressed. the first three cycles were nothing to bad, heavy, but not like the pain I have been in for the last 3 months. and it has just gotten progressively worse... I elected to have surgery as the hormonal option wasnt something I wanted to do at this point in time.

My question is has anyone with endo treated it with natural alternatives with any success? my thinking is that if after removal of the endo i start some natural therapies it may be constructive in slowing down, or hindering it all together, its return!

the pain... i'm so sick of popping pain killers.and because they have a tendancy to knock me out, i only take them when DH is around, in the the night. that said, they are finally starting to have effect and I think I am heading for bed finally.

all suggestions and advice greatly appreciated! i have to admit I feel slightly better knowing that there are women out there who truly understand my pain as they have experienced it themselves. to date i have met any IRL who has.

    Hi Vicky,

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can do wonders for endo, but it's not an overnight fix. It's different for everyone and depends on how long you have had it, so u can see improvement in just a month but usually treatment would be for 3 to 6 months. So it can get a bit expensive, but worth it and private health companies will help you out. I would suggest finding someone who specialises in treating women's health issues and ask about people they have treated with endo.
The bonus is that because chinese medicine treats the whole person and your individual pattern, it improves your health in general and people are pleasantly suprised when things like energy and sleep improve aswell.
There is also a great book called Endometriosis: A key to healing and fertility through nutrition by Dian Shepperson Mills and Michael Vernon and they claim great success just with the diet.

    Hope that helps
