    Ovulation Induction - side effects

    HI all

Just wondering if anyone had had sucess with an OI with just the trigger injection and then injections after O? Are the injections hard to do? Side effects?

    Hi MB
I had OI but with clomid as well as the injections and unfortunately no luck. The injections really arent that hard to do, i got DH to do it the first few times and then started doing them myself. There are side effects i guess the main thing i found was general tiredness but not much more in OI i think the clomid was the worst for me, but i know some girls dont react well to pregnyl. Good luck and hope you get your BFP soon!

pregnyl contains HCG within the injection - the same hormone you produce when pg - so basically think of any potential pg symptom, and you've got your list of side effects! i didn't have them badly, but i knew when the drug was almost out of my system each time cos i could feel the side effects reducing. i just felt pg! a couple of girls have had a bit of a welt from the injection for a few days, but i've never found that. probably the most complex bit is mixing the water and the powder!

i haven't had a trigger to aid in "natural" ovulation, but i know of others that have. i've always had puregon shots first to grow me some follies and then triggered after that. i've used pregnyl "booster" shots after that to help with luteal phase support. my understanding is that, as well as HCG, the pregnyl helps to keep your progesterone levels hight enough to sustain a pregnancy

    Pregnyl mimic pregnancy?

    Hi Briggsy's girl

I transferred 2nd FET (1embie x 8cells) on 17/5/08 and need to inject Pregnyl each 3 days. I will have BT this Sat 31/5. Actually I do not feel any side effects clearly even the day of Pregnyl injection. Sometimes I feel yawning a lot for a while, feel mild cramping last weekend just like AF is arriving and now it stops. Only my breast a bit tender, that is all my symtoms so I don't know I am pregnant or not? My utures a bit bigger (actually I am small body)

Last 1st FET I did not use any drugs support and I felt symtoms on 10DPO with result I was pregnant but M/C at 6 weeks. I am worried ans scared this time happens again.

The nurse just called me to ask everything and I asked her something above, she said mostly side effects from Pregnyl so cann't tell until BT but by the time BT the AF will be delayed by Pregnyl also.I am no idea what's going on?

    Me :33 DH :37
    ICSI started Aug 07: 7 embies: 1fresh transfer x4cells, 6 embies frozen
BFP: 34 HCG : chemical preg
    1stFET(8/11/07) : 1x 6 cells - BFP 334HCG at 15DPO. Early M/C at 6 weeks at 13/12/07
Jan 08 :moving from Mel to Perth
    2nd FET (17/5/08): waiting???? or
only 1 blast embie left frozen for next use;-(

your nurse is right hun - the pregnyl will give you mild pg symptoms (sore bb's etc - sometimes mild nausea) - and the pregnyl will delay AF as it's progesterone support - AF arrives when your progesterone levels drop at the end of the luteal phase. you can't even do a HPT as the pregnyl will possibly show up a positive result that isn't correct. i'm sure your BT has been timed to ensure that the pregnyl is out of your system - hoping that you get a BFP
