Crinone gel - progestrone - how often ??

    hi there everyone,
just wondering after a fresh ET - did you dotor get you take this crinone gel and how often ? I am using it once a day (at night) and it is 8% Crinone.

Also, this time I was told to start it the day before transfer, which I did not do before, I started on the day of transfer. I was going for blastie, but instead had a 3 day transfer as it was my only one.

just interested in what others have done/doing.

every transfer i've had, i've been started on the progesterone support prior to transfer. when using crinone, it was one a night (the 8%), starting the night before the transfer. it's possible it's been done differently this time than your previous trasnfer if there has been evidence that your natural progesterone level after EPU has been a little low... i guess having support a little earlier, if it helps with the outcome, is always worth the effort!

If you don't have P4 issues, generally it's not going to matter a hell of a lot if you started one day late. The P4 supps are a precaution only in those cases. It's probably why you're only on one Crinone application a day (so was I when I was on crinone ). The cycle we fell pg, I had so much P4 in my system that where most pg women have levels of about 100 at cd 28, mine was 1000+ at cd 27.

Don't stress hun, it's only an issue if you have major P4 issues.

    hi Nic,
any reason why you think you are on twice a day? I sometimes wonder if one a day is not enough progestrone support..

    Hi runnermum

I have been told to use the crinone at night from the night of EPU onwards. I am not aware that I have any P4 issues and this is different from previous cycles where I have started the crinone on the night of transfer. The clinics all seem to use a slightly different approach.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have no idea why I was on them twice a day? sorry can't help you out with that one. I spent the TWW on the Crinone, then after the +ve test, I was switched to the pessaries twice a day. I had to travel a bit, and had 2 different FS, one who did the EPU and transfer and the other one looked after everything else.

sorry I can't help you out anymore than that..
    Nic
