Tonsils and adnoids plus cautery turbinates ????

I have been to the ENT today and my son has to have his tonsils and adnoids out and the ENT has also booked him in for cautery turbinates. Has anyone had cautery turbinates done with the removal of the tonsils and adnoids. I am wondering what it will be like after this procedure as I have never heard of anyone having all 3 procedures together. Only adnoids and tonsils together. And if you know of someone who has had Cautery Turbinates done, was it beneficial?

Have you tried to google it?

I have had my adnoids out (still have my tonsils though), so sorry cant be of more help. I can only assume recovery will be very similar for 1 or 3 procedures. Hope someone can give you some better advice.

Thanks for your reply Lisa. I have googled now and while it's not common to have it done with tonsils and adenoids it's not rare either. It seems that the tonsil removal is worse than the adenoids and cautery of the the turbinates. Looks like it can't be that common though as noone else has posted. Thanks Lisa
