Short cervix at 32 weeks what will happen

Hello,

had a scan today and while the girl was checking every thing she noticed my cervix looked short I did have pains yesterday but they did stop plus it happened with my last baby except they did and internal exam and i was 2 cm and 80% effaced but today she did an internal and it measured 1.6 cm and im wondering what will happen now I'm guessing they might admit me for steroid injections as this is what happened last time. they were happy to let me go home today as im back in the hospital tomorrow morning and if any thing happens ive to come in

any one been through this or know what a short cervix means sorry to be so dumb you think ild know being my 4th
