Hey
I HAVE posted about this before, and with the replies i got, i just kinda left it and didnt worry about it any more. BUT im worried about it again.
Isabell does this thing on occasions, where she tenses her little body, she wriggles around (while still tensed) and she lets out this growl like scream, kinda like she is in pain/being tortured. It is SO scary. She stops it when i pick her up, and she just starts crying from then on till when ever i can manage to settle her.
She is NOT straining. Its not a wind thing, its not a reflux thing, its not a colic thing. I dont know what it is, but its none of those things. I really hope some one can shed some light, coz i am REALLY worried. Id almost say its like a pinched nerve or something.
It doesnt happen a lot, but it happens about 2-3 times a week. Its got nothing to do with motion, coz she has done it when she has been on her change table getting a nappy change, or even in the middle of sleeping.
I hope all is okay with her, should i maybe take her to the doctor or something??
I agree with the ladies above. Write down all the symptoms (so you don't forget any if the GP interrupts you) and take them to your GP. You have a gut instinct for a reason so make use of it. It may turn out to be nothing but better safe than sorry.
Yeah we did take her to the chiro, and it doesnt seem to happen AS often s it used to, so thats a good sign. She is still going, we tried bringing it up with him at her last visit but she started crying and we kinda forgot about it from the distraction.
I dont think she is fitting, i have seen a baby fitting before (my sister, she has epilepsy and had all kinds of fits when she was a bub)
Id say its either a pinched nerve or a cramp or something similar to kind amake her freeze up like she does.
Ill take her to doc during the week get it checked out.
Just remember that with epilepsy there are several different forms of seizure, not just a gran mal fit.
If you are really worried, and it sounds like it is something that is happening regularly, take her to the paed, and they will if anything be able to tell what it is not.
Im not sure. My sister has epilepsy and it began with absence seizures where she would just drift off and her eyes would glaze over and she would be gone for aywhere between 10 seconds and a minute. She could be distracted out of it most of the time. Her earlier gran mal seizures where very sedate, but they have gotten worse. she doesnt have them often, butwhen she does they are full on fits.
Maybe if she is distracted out of them and cries she may be unable to control them, what ever it is.
Hey,
Just a thought, could it possibly be a spasm from torticollis?? Isabell has torticollis, we are waiting for our refferal to a physio to treat it, and ive heart of torticollis causing spasms.
Thanks so much for your help so far girls. Im going to call doc in the morning and book her in for a appt just to make sure.
could also be febral convulsions rather than epilepsy iywkim. My brother had febral convulsions and they were bloody scary.. he'd tense up and just stare .. and then he'd come out of it and be absolutely exhausted.
