Unpaid Maternity leave considered for Centrelink?

Hi All,

if I am on unpaid maternity leave, can I still lodge a form to see if I can get some centrelink payments to help with the mortgage?

Or is that considered me still "working"?

if you're talking about family tax benefit, it goes on your annual income, so if you're not getting paid, then yes, you might be entitled to payment

if you're talking about income support payments, it might be different (so parenting payment/newstart if you haven't already given birth etc) - you need to give me a bit more detail about your situation (including partner status) - there are income limits that will apply, and these vary depending on payment that you're applying for.
