Really Useful Appliance - vacuum sealer

2 weeks ago I bought a vacuum sealer. One of the best things I have ever bought.
Your meat doesnt change colour in the freezer, everything stays fresher for longer. I can pre-chop & peel my vegies once Ive been to the market and seal them in bags for each night & they stay fresh for ages & I just get them out & throw them in the steamer.
Another thing I have started doing is premixing dry ingredients for cakes/biscuits/etc and sealing them & attaching the instructions for what else needs to be added. A lot cheaper than buying the box mixes

oh, and with some stuff you can wash & reuse the bags ( I wouldnt do it with the meat though)

Next on the list........maybe a dehydrator or a mixmaster.....

Wow- great tips about the precut veggies and premixed cakes Sal! I want a dehydrator too- you could buy cheap stewing fruit and make up heaps of homemade dried fruit. Yum.

That's awesome Sal! I've always been intrigued by those, but never sure if I could justify the price!

I got mine on sale at Myers for $90 (normally $100), I think the brand is Dome, and I use the sunbeam rolls to make the bags
