    Darwin Playgroups?

Just had a baby boy and the hospital gave me a whole bunch of pamphlets of different playgroups etc in Darwin but I threw them out thinking I wouldn't be interested. But 10 weeks later I have changed my mind.

Anyone on here that attends one in Darwin?

I used to live in Darwin, I used to go to the Defence ones but there was one that I went to in Malak (Ithink that was the name ) primary school...

But if you just go back to the health nurse you will find the list there...

I also know that Nightcliff health centre had a " new mums group" there so give them a call and they will be able to help you out....

God I wish I was back in Darwin right now LOL It's BLOOOOOOOOOODY FREEEEEEEEEZING HERE!!!!!!!

    hope some of this helps....

    It's freezing here too!!!
haha probably not compared to you but we are in tracksuits this morning.

Of course, I forgot about the Defence Playgroups (we are a defence family) I am just looking to fill the time up with baby so we aren't always just at home.
Ive gotten a bit down and considering part time work so I have that adult interaction especially since partner is heading to middle east in a couple of months. And to make a little for $$ for us to be able to do the nice things like swimming class & kindy gyms. But feel guilty.

    Thanx for your help

somewhere here there is a Defence thread I would love to be able to attach the link to it but have no idea how to do that lol....

You do what you have to do but I would try the playgroups 1st before you try work as I feel we only get the baby time for such a short amount of time that if you can afford it spend it with your child ....

If I find and work out how to attach the link then I will be back ....

ok lets see if this works http://https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums/parenting-family-life/70013-defence-force-families.html

    yep seams to be working!!!!!

    Hi Pheonix's Mummy...
I am living in Palmerston and have a 12 week old son. I am also interested in a mothers group/playgroup type thing once a week, did you find one???? I'd be interested to know where you are going and if you are enjoying it?!

    Smile Playgroup in Darwin

    Hi Bailey09
I am a part of a playgroup in Nightcliff, Darwin - "St Peters Playgroup". It meets Mondays 9-11am at St Peters Anglican Church, cnr Trower Rd & Sabine Rd, Nightciff. It would be about a 20min drive from Palmerston. It's great... you would be most welcome to check us out. We have organised songs, stories and craft, as well as a nice aircon space great for young babies. But I guess it would be better to find something a bit closer to home. You can always ring the Playgroup Association NT. They are really helpful and usually give you a list of 3 or 4 groups close by. Also the clinics up here (well at least in Casuarina and Nightcliff) have a meet other parents group (MOPs) every week for anyone with a young bub. Anyway hope you find a playgroup... they're great!

    Hi

I too am a defence spouse and live at DEB. I go to a playgroup here on base on Mondays from 9-11with my 16 month old (its for newborns to 4 years, there are a few first time mums with new bubs who come). There is also one at the RAAF Base at the same time. Both community centers also run coffee mornings on a Thursday from 9:30 am but the one at the RAAF Base is for Mums, Bubs and Bellies. For more info follow the link below and scroll down till you get to the NT part
    Defence Community Organisation

Also feel free to PM if you want more info.

There are also swim classes offered through the Coonawarra Community House and through the Gold Fish Bowl Swim School (heated pool ).

Hope some of this info helps. Oh and there are also playgroups run through Robbertson as well.
