    long term IVF

I am a 40 year old single woman and decided to start IVF 3 years ago, in case I didnt meet that special man in time. I am still going. I had 6 AI's, then fell pregnant on my 1st IVF only to miscarry at 7 weeks. I then had further tfrs and miscarried again this year at 7 weeks. I am now at a total (including the AI) of 16 goes. This 16 includes the 6 AI, 3 Egg collections and the remaining frozen tfrs. Is there anyone else out there who has had this many or any similar issues, I would love to hear from you. I am just starting my 17th go....due for a frozen tfr soon

    ah karenmaree,
you must be one strong girl!
my name is odette and we have been trying to complete our family since 2000.

There are a few of us out there that have done our fair share of IVF procedures. There is a Long Term Assisted Conception forum that has been a bit quiet for a while, but is around. Come and join us

I have done 7 full rounds of IVF and FET. Had success on my 2nd cyle with twins and been trying for the past 5 years to complete our family. Had success with our 6th attempt but sadly the baby died the day before my 12 week scan. Was waiting for my AF to come to start again and its now 11 weeks later and i am not waiting anymore (will go into more detail in a couple more weeks)

We are here for each other for support and to help keep each other sane and tighten each others straight jackets so feel free to join us.
    take care and stay strong
    odette

    Karenmaree,

Yes another long termer. 6 full rounds of IVF, 40 yrs of age and have been TTC since Dec 2001. No luck for me.

I found IVF too emotionally and financially draining. I still would desperatly love a baby, but I just don't know what to do

But all the luck to you

I'm about to do my fourth full round - never have enough eggs to freeze, I'm 44. Started last year after no luck with vas reversal. So I guess I'm not considered long term IVF yet

    Good luck

i've done both IUI and IVF over the past 18months, 9 attempts, 3 positives that were lost within days, the most recent this week. i admire the strength you possess to continue through this process, particularly doing it solo (i'd be a mess trying to do this without DH to vent at!).

we have been TTC since Feb 2005 (2 angel babies that year too) and are determined to keep going. i didn't realise how many attemps we'd had in that time until i counted just now - i guess we just keep going - the dream of a child is stronger than the pain from the last failed cycle, or the last loss.

come join us in the long term AC thread hun - as odette mentioned, it's a little quiet at the moment (tends to come in waves really), but it will pick up - especially as new members join (though for your sake, i hope you don't have to hang around too long!!)

Hi, thanks everyone, it is soooo nice to know that I am not on my own, and that there others out there who have had as many tries.....we just need to keep positive and keep trying. I have wonderful support of family and friends and that is what I need.
