Hey Brooke, I'm seeing Prof Illingworth who I think is the Medical Director of IVFAustralia.
Will you be meeting with Dr Soo on the 2nd August?
As for attempts I have done x2 FSH/IUI and x1 IVF Short cycle with no sucess.
DH and I should be starting our next IVF cycle either this next cycle or the one after.
80% of Costs are covered by Medicare once you reach the Safety Net of $1054.
As for Eggs Splitting, it can happen...that has always been my dream..TWINS!!!!!

    Hi Brooke,
I'm just starting my first cycle of ivf through Westmead Fertility Centre. I'm not seeing the same dr as you but I can answer you on costs... Total cost is $1450. If you've reached the medicare safety net, you'll get 80% back once the cycle is completed. Westmead Fertility Centre have a really informative website, not sure if you've checked it out.

    Hi Brooke,
I'm with Dr Smith. He's been great, answering all of our questions and stepping us through treatment options. We've got "unexplained infertility" and we'd had all routine tests done before we got to our first appt - blood tests, tubes checked, sperm, etc... so our first appt was discussing medical history and our options. We decided on an option - which was also the one recommended by the dr, signed forms and were given instructions on what to do next...

The clinic nurses are fantastic. They're available 7 days to answer questions and help you through the treatment.

Don't forget to take $6 in coins for car parking at Westmead!

Hi Brooke. Glad to hear your appt went well... information overload but that's what's its like at the start of it all! Clinic nurses are great and will answer any questions along the way...

Smithy, to answer your qu about blasty embryo transfers... Their info pack says that most transfers are done day 2-3. Going to blastocyst stage is only recommended for couples who have at least 6 fertilised embryos because only 50% of early embryos develop to blasty stage and some couples may not have any left to transfer if they wait the 5 days. They suggest it is "most suitable for couples with repeated ivf failures despite having large numbers of fertilised eggs each time". HTH...
