Are you allowed to have Spicy food in Pregnancy?? I want Laksa for dinner.
But I think I remember my acupuncturist saying that you shouldn't have spicy food. Not that it's bad, but it's not real good either.
Anyone been told the same thing?
I haven't been told you can't have it - just that it can cause heartburn.
Other people may know otherwise though?!
I've been eating curry HEAPS this pg - I crave it!!
Its safe it can just cause abit of discomfort in pregnancy. Such as.. the runs.. heartburn and all the stuff that goes with it. Once u have heartburn (like pregnancy chronic) u will want to avoid spicy foods as it may make it stick around for days! HTH
I dont know what Laksa is, i think it could be some sort of soup/pasta... mmm so i cant tell u whether that exact thing is safe to eat
Hmmm - I've lived on Thai, Mexican and Indian foods this pregnancy & am desperately hanging for some good Lebanese food. I've read that the spices are good for you because they often contain lots of nutrients & vitamins. It's just that some women find that it gives them heartburn or indigestion. I'm sure you acupuncturist has a reason but I don't think it's anything that can harm bubs & that's the most important thing. If you're really concerned wait & ask him/her. Don't eat it though if you are going to stress over whether you should have eaten it after you've eaten.
I heard that eating spicy foods when pg and bfing can make your kids better at eating spice. Sure enough, I ate tonnes of spicy stuff all through pg and bfing and my boys now love spicy foods. Our local Indian restaurant used to be amazed that DS1 would eat spicy things when he was just 1!
