The 'oldschool' WW children's cakes cooking book

Dont know if I've put this in the correct area, but does anyone know where and if I can still buy the Women's Weekly cake book, the one with the train & popcorn on the front? The only place I can find is ebay and I keep getting outbid, i'm hopeless with ebay!

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions apart from Ebay! I'm lucky enough that my mum still has it, so I just 'borrow' hers Good luck with your bids.

I am pretty sure that my local newsagent sells it. Check at your local one... if they don't ask them if they can order it

I thought it was out of print Dani? That's good if it's still available!

    Like I said ... "I think"

I was looking at them the other day.. I have the new one but there was an "old version" there. I didn't pay too much attention to it. I just assumed! I might have to check it out tomorrow.. you have piqued my curiosity now Janie

I bought one a few years ago and it was reprinted by popular demand...maybe see if a newsagent or bookshop can order it for you

I got a new version of it last year. The cakes are different but the concept is still pretty much the same. Mum still has the original one and it's almost fallen apart from being pawed at so if you can get one off ebay in good condition then you're lucky indeed as I suspect most of them would be in similar condition.

I can have a look out for you for the new one if you like at my local news agents where mine came from Let me know!

It is worth asking at the newsagency but I am fairly sure that it was discontinued a little while ago. They stopped making certain ones and replaced them with different versions. I worked at a newsagency before I had DS and I can vaguely remember thinking people were going to riot because it was so popular . Some newsagencies still have old stock but I just looked on the mag shop website and it isn't listed, so I am fairly sure it is out of print. Your library might have a copy?

Thanks everyone, I am 99% sure that they no longer print it. My mum had a copy for years, but sent it to the op shop when we grew up. Bummer!! I want my own copy. Ah well looks like I'll have to keep trying on ebay. I'm also going to try Elizabeth's bookshop, you never know, I have found some gems in there before! Otherwise the library I guess is another option, sadly I'd have to return it wahhh. lol.

Wow!!! There is one on ebay at the moment that is currently at $36 and still has 2 days left! No wonder you keep getting outbid... it must be a very popular book.

They did a new one a few years ago but it had pretty much all the old cakes in it as well as some new ones (I have both )

I just did a search for you and WW have released a newer version still which is called Party Animals.

The only suggestion that I have is ringing Magshop as they sell all the WW products and do their subscriptions and seeing if they have any left (you may be lucky - there may be a box out the back somewhere)

    Otherwise try second hand bookshops.

    Good luck

I just had a look online, and found some on Amazon (in the UK, they seem to have lots of AWW books). I have PM'd you the link/address. I hope that helps.

My Mum has this book, and I loved going through it as a child too, so I know why you want one! Hmm, I wonder now if she still has it! I doubt that she would need/want it anymore.... I want it too!
