Single Parent & Centrelink Entitlements

If you are a single parent is there any other payments other that than FTA, FTB & Rent Assistance that you are entitled to? I know roughly what CS payments he'd have to make as well.

I just looking into it all atm as things arent looking to hot with me & DP and i am trying to find out what $$ i'd get.

hey hun - sorry to hear about your situation. You should also be able to get parenting payment.

After i left my x i was on these benefits and got appx $800 a fortnight from memory.

If you go to the Clink website you can get yourself an estimate of your entitlements.

Go to the Rate Estimator for PPS and FTB.

There aren't any other payments, but you may be able to get cheaper childcare and a small subsidy if you are studying.

Good idea for checking out your options...

Thanks for that - i used the estimator last night but must have checked the wrong box as it said Id get the same amount as i would now with DP living here...around $450 a fornight including rent assistance.

I ran it then, based on you paying 250 pw in rent and the 2 kids.

Without the CS (which will affect), its coming up at $1101.14 per fortnight.

$546, PPS
$125 rent assist
the rest is FTB, but that depends on the rate of CS.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation.

Do you put your children into childcare? If you do you'll be entitled to CCB I think.
