    Contaratcions at 25 weeks

Hi everyone what a week we have had. went to tea on saturday night at a friends house and I went to the loo thinkng I had diarreaha pains bad found I was bleeding and the pains were contatctions. we wnt staright to the hospital and they transferred me to sydney straight away. I was given drugs to stop the contratctions and everything has settled down really well now. The docs said I have an irritated uterus and have increased my clexane to help stop the bleeding. It was a very scary time but now Im scared that if I have diarreaha again the same thing could happen. But now Iam constipated and cant seem to go at all. Has anyone else had this and can my bowel problems be the cause of the contarctions?????

Big hugs hun. I am so sorry that you have had such a scary time. I am so glad they were able to stop the contractions for you.

I wonder if the constipation could be caused by a sub-conscious fear of going to the toilet in case it happens again? Try drinking pear juice, and maybe get some powder from the chemist to help as well (let them know you are pg if it's not obvious!). And just try to relax.

I hope that your baby stays put for a long while yet and this problem resolves for you. Take care hun.

I'm so glad they could stop the contractions. I don't think the runs had anything to do with causing it, it's a symptom of it. Bowels go loose when labour starts.

As for your constipation I can recommend Fybogel. That's what I was given at hospital after the birth. It's safe to use during pregnancy and breast feeding.

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and hope you stay that way. I have been taking a glass of metamucil every night about an hour before bed and I'm finding that good- much better than when i take it in the morning or worse still not at all! and of course lots of fruit helps.

Good luck and here's hoping you have a healthy 15 or so weeks
