Questions to ask Ob about previous CS with the aim to VBA2C??

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering if you can give me some ideas on what questions to ask my Ob with regards to my previous CS's.

I am off to see him at the end of the month to have a chat about my two CS and to see if there is any reasonable reason that I will not be able to have a VBA2C. And also to gage his reaction/opinion on my desire to VBA2C.

I have my hospital records but they state nothing about the conditon of my previous scar.

So I plan on asking him
    - if he used the previous internal incision with my second CS or if he created another one, and to make sure the second one was a horizontal incision too,
    - what the scaring was like
    - would he support me with regards to VBA2C (I'm not holding my breath)

Is there any other questions I should ask??

Both my CS's were elective so I have never gone into labour or laboured.
I am holding off TTC until I see him as I am only planning a 2 yr gap btwn #2 and #3, so that will be 3 kids under 4, which I don't see a problem with in regards to UR and my chances, but I will ask his opinion on that as well.

Any suggestions would be greatley appreciated.

    Thanks
    Lisa

    This is an old thread

I am pleased to say that my OB did support me which was a total shock!! I did also back myself with an IM for support just incase he back tracked at the end, but he stayed firm with the support because I was firm with wanting a VBA2C. He was happy to go along with my birth plan ie: no continuous monitoring or cannula or VE's unless requested by me etc...

The only thing he wanted that I didn't do was to come to hospital as soon as labour started....I stayed home with my IM as long as I could (to 8cm and 18ish hours with 2 days of pre labour) then we went to hospital and told a fib about how long I'd been in labour !!

I had a successful drug free VBA2C in july last year and I would go back and do it all again if I could. My birth story is in my sig if you want to have a read....
