    Question 2yo Day Sleep?

My DD has just turned 2. This week she has been fighting me every step of the way with her day sleep.
Is this normal? When did your child drop their day sleep? I was hoping it would not be for years!
Any tricks out there for even getitng a half an hour to yourself?

hahah I remember going through this with my son, some kids stop their day sleep really early and some dont. My don was about 2 aswell. Maybey you could try putting her down every second day for a sleep? Hope that helps good luck

Just before Darcy turned 2 she started to fight it as well, but I think it was just part of the testing the boundaries phase for her.
At daycare they still have to have a 'rest', and that suits me just fine. Like your bub Darcy falls asleep about 4-5 if she doesn't have one, so that tells me she still needs one. However if she doesn't go down early enough then we don't go to bed until late - so it's catch 22.
Good luck, I hope you figure out what she needs.

Post What time do you put her down now?

My 4yr old and 2 yr old still have a day sleep - but I found when they hit 2 I had to adjust there day sleep. If you put them down to early (between 9am - 11) then they won't go down or sleep for very long, if you put them down too late (3pm - onwards) then they stay up till all hours at night.

I try and wear my munchkins out in the morning, give them some lunch and pop them down at about 12.30 - which is around the same time they go down at daycare - 95% of the time it works too and they have a good sleep sometimes till 3 - and 12.30 onwards seems to be the quietest part of the day. If they are quite wound up, I pop them on their bed to watch a movie and they are out to it within 20 minutes.

    Hope this helps?

DD#1 cut out her day sleep at 29 months....wayyyyy too young
DD#2 is 2.5 now and she loves her day sleeps. Often hates me waking her up. She will go usually at 2pm - 330/4pm.

Some days if we're out and not home in time then she wont have one. But by 630pm she is cranky and awful, and often goes straight to bed.....

Defn important IMO to wear them out. Lots of physical activity in the am makes for a sleepy toddler for PM ...............
