Awww hun they suck don't they. I shouldn't complain I knjow because some people get them really bad but I didn't get one with Isabelle and I was religious with my Bio-Oil and Cocoa butter and tht must have made a difference because this pregnancy I have been slack and have quite a few on my belly - arrrggghhhhhhhh. Heres to a very fast 6ish weeks, so we can hold our bubs and forget our nice purple marks!
My frustrations were slightly different. I felt like I was getting some under my belly in the last couple of weeks of pregnancy but my DF assured me there were none there. Even after the birth he assured me there were none. Two weeks later they emerged. I could not believe it.
I have stretchmarks all over. They're gross, but hey what can you do about them. I just have non-stretchy skin.
I got most of mine in my first pg so the second time around I didn't really get any new ones since I was already prestretched. Lol.
Thanks guys! I think its just gettting to me now because my clothes don't fit properly and basically I've just had enough! But I know it will all be worth it when I meet my little man!!
i got none both pregnancies , but now that i am amlost a week over dure , they have appeared just abouve my belly button , only 3 tiny ones ... but gees ... why only when im over due ??
but i remeber only having them on my hips as a teenager , then once they had all faded , i thought i was home free , but i put on heaps of weight when i moved overseas , and got them on the inside of my thighs ... i kept my legs shut for a loooong time i was soooo embarrassed about the ...
and my boobs , well they have seen perkier days ....
hang in there .... in the last 2 weeks i have found i have become soooooo huge , but the end is near and in a few weeks you new bub will make you forget all about it
ive been getting them just under my ribs!! tho the docs did tell me shes up quite high.. but still.. if they were on my lower belly i could cover them with pants.. well no stripping off at summer time for me anymore
Whilst you are pregnant hormones soften the collagen in your ligaments, however the collagen in your skin also suffers.
Diet is a major factor - you can do a lot to help your skin deal with pregnancy by ensuring that your body is getting enough antioxidants especially Vit C as it plays a major role in the synthesis of collagen.
Eat foods that are rich in zinc, vitamins A, C and D and a good mix of proteins.
Dark Green Veg (Spinach, silverbeet) and oily fish (salmon, mackerel, etc...) are good inclusions in your diet.
Drink lots of water....lots of water! - this does wonders for the elasticity of your skin.
I don't understand stretch marks at all. I have had bad stretch marks all down the outside of my thighs since I was 14 and I never gained or lost weight, I was always skinny. So why the stretch marks? No idea.
Then I developed them on my breasts, and yes they did grow but slowly over years.
So I really expected them in pregnancy, but my belly is smooth as the proverbial baby's arse. But I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. I am still expecting them. I've been moisturising my belly and boobs with Nivea since I conceived. I think just the gentle daily massage of the skin has helped.
But you know what, I'm 31 and married and about to be a mum, so if I turn into one big hideous stretch mark is doesn't really matter
