Hi guys how is everyone?? Well i just have a question, When did u guys turn ur bubs seat aroud? like from newborn to like big kid lol. My daughter is 8 months old now and i think she weighs about 7 8kg? from memory how much do they have to weigh? or wats the go with turning the seat around? i do have another daughter but i just cannot remember when i turned hers around. can anyone help? thanks
Tasha, I'll hunt up a good thread about this for you. Basically the later you turn them around the better. They can stay rear facing in most seats until 12 kgs, and it is best to wait until then. The thread I'm going to look for has a link to a video showing why it's much safer. Once you see that you'll be in no hurry to turn it around. Our second DS was smaller than his brother at the same age, so was around 18 months before we turned him.
I couldnt wait to turn my other 2 daughters around forward facing...but after seeing that utube vid, we wont be turning Sam around for a while yet - she's 11 months and 10kgs.......
I've seen the video too and agree you should keep them rear facing as long as possible but we finally did DD at 10 months because she was starting to try and get up. She is over 9kg and very happy facing the front and I'm happy that she is safe. It was getting very difficult getting her in and out because she wanted to sit up rather than lean back.
Oskar is almost 17 months and we turned him around only about 2 weeks ago... he was starting to creep up to the 12 kg mark and we didn't want him to go over and not realise, this was the only reason we turned him.
