    worried about my son,

    hi everyone
im just a little bit worried about my son atm,
he started taking antibiotics (keflex) on tuesday and since then he has had pretty runny poo's the same colour as the antibiotics (a yellow colour)
i just put it down to the antibiotics playing up a bit coz he has never really had to have medication before.

but now over the last 2 days his poo's have turned a grey- creamish colour and they smell fishy (IYKWIM)

every second day or so he wont eat or drink much, im not really sure what to do???

Maybe take him back to the GP? Tell them whats been happening? I know when Logan has any sort of medication his bowel movments tend to be 'runny'. Sorry i know im not much help...

antibiotics can affect wees and poos colour, consistency, regularity etc. But for your peace of mind I'd take him back. Also good to get checked if he allergic to certain antibiotics too...

Yeah I agree that can be normal after a few days of antibiotics. Its a good idea to get double checked as the fishy smell is a bit worrying. I give my girls probiotics after 3 days on antibiotics as we have big issues having antibiotics in our house. It can stir up things like reflux and cause some troubling intestinal issues. :hugs: its horrible to see them uncomfortable.

i took him up to the hospital at 7 this morning, they said he has had a reaction to his antibiotics and since i have stopped them he's got like a gastro type thing and the doctor seems to think its the milk thats going straight through him, although he couldnt explain the 'fishy' smell.

I had the same problem with those antibiotics as well about a month ago. Was in so much pain and ended up in hospital on a drip to rehydrate. The Dr thought I had a mild reaction followed by a bout of gastro, but I really believe that there was no gastro and it was all the meds fault. Hope your little boy is feeling better now.
