1st Fathers Day Present

I'm not sure this is the right spot for this but figured this would be the place for many parents in same position.

Our DD is 2.5 weeks old and I want to get DH something to remember his first fathers day. We are getting twinkle toes and inkyfeet done for DD but obviously those aren't going to be ready for Fathers Day and he knows about those.

Has anyone found some cool or unique gifts to commemorate your DH's first fathers day??

I thought of the obvious stuff like "Worlds Greatest Dad" cup and stuff like that but thought I'd see any unique ideas.

I've got my DP a pair of cufflinks. I had grand plans of getting them engraved with "Happy 1st Fathers Day" but the engraver said they were too small to engrave on So I got him a book as well and will write a special message in the front.

For BHL 1st Fathers day there wasnt anything like that around LOL so I did feet and hand prints of DS with paint and framed them....

But as you are already doing twinkle toes that might be a waste of time....

sorry I am having a mental blank ATM wish i was more help....

You could alway write a poem from baby to daddy .... If you have a creative mind that is I dont but if you ask there are some very good poem writers on this site... GL

I saw this great site that provides jewelery with bubs fingerprint on them. Can't remember the web address but maybe google it. It works like twinkle toes where they send you a kit to take the mold of the fingerprint and then you send it back for them to make the desired piece up. Would be a bit late to order now tho...unless you do like a giftvoucher type thing letting him know that his gift is coming.

Otherwise, maybe a really nice photo of him and bubs blown up and in a frame for a desk or bedside table? Its hard to buy sentimental gifts for dads because sometimes they just don't get it... lol

My DH told me he wants a new pair of ug boots for his first father's day. I'm also going to stamp DD's hand and/or foot print in a card or on a piece of card using some kids paint. We are flat broke at the moment coz we had lots of bills so he is not getting a present on the actual day. He knows that and is fine with it. We are also going to the Adelaide Show on Father's day.

I got for Dh some nice presents but I also gave him (already!!) a photo of DD in a frame for his bedside table. I also bought a beautiful book - can't remember exact name but it's all about loving daddy and animals in it. I wrote in it for him from Mackenzie. Our local bookstore has about 8 books about dads as well as a few for grandads. I found it really hard to choose!!! Anyway they were all cute and meaningful!
