I've been co-sleeping with DD since she was about 5 months as she had frequent night waking. Now, she's pretty used to co-sleeping. The only problem is that she's the barrier between DH and I not to mention that she sometimes wake DH and I up by flinging her arms and kicking. The reason to why I am really hoping that she'll be able to go back to her crib is also because I'm pregnant. I figure since DD is such a kicker, I'm scared that it would cause a m/c and it be her fault. I really don't want to see this happen. So, I would appreciate any advices. Thanks in advance!!!
Congratulation on your pregnancy!
I really doubt that a kick from a bubba in bed would cause anything nasty like a m/c. I have 3 kids who jump on me all the time & have been pg & co slept with all of mine. Isla is still in our bed & im 32 weeks.
BUT I do know that want of the bed for just me & DH. A few things I have tried over the years are
* Put bubs down on a blanket that you can picker up on when you move her to her cot, so rather then pickign her up off the bed, Pick up the edges of the blanket like a sling & move her that way. That way your not touching her, she remains on the warm spot she already had & the smell of the blanket (your bed) also remains.
*Do similar to above but with an item of your clothing that has your smell on it.
* Now that Isla is bigger, I sometime lay with ehr in her bed which is still in our room (lucky I have room for our quen bed & a single in the same rooom.) Then I go to my bed once she is sound asleep.
There have been other things I have done that haven't worked for long. But those are the main things. BUT I have no suggestions fo getting them to go to sleep on their own. Mine never have.
