So wen to the Dr today...am still showing up a very faint positive. Got me to go do a bloodtest and said that my hormone levels may be low and in that case I'll get weekly tests.
She also said that 90% of pregnancies with low hormone levels are fine and normal but there is a change soemthing might be wrong.
I know I shouldn't worry...but I am!
I am roughly 4 weeks...anyone else pull a faint test?
Also - stupid question - but does the amount of water I drink 'water down'the horone levels in my wee or does that not make any difference!
water will dilute the concentration of hormone in your wee - that's why most HPT's suggest that you use first morning uring as it is usually the most concentrated (unless you're like me and drink all night too!)
at 4 weeks (i'm assuming you're 14days post ovulation) it's not unusual to have a faint line - as long as it's visible at arms length, it's a good sign. your GP should do a series of tests over a week (i'd not wait a week between tests!) to see that your hcg is climbing at a reasonable rate (doubling at least every 48 hours)
A blood test will show a +ve.....regardless of the amount of water youve had.
Whereas if you mean HPT - then yes, it would matter at this stage of your pregnancy (early days) how much water you had drank and what time of day your taking the test.
So your roughly 14 DPO ??? So still early days, not unheard of of faint lines, but still good idea that you went to your doc...
4 weeks is still early.....id say keep getting your BT's and keep your chin up...i hope it is a BFP!
As for the the water question...no question is ever silly to ask..im sure theres lots who want to know the same thing but dont ask. Im not sure if it waters it down....i would always drink lots if i had to do urine tests to ensure i could pee when the time came..LOL
I am a big water drinker. I did a test at home this morning (2nd pee of the day) and my line was MUCH stronger than last week. Drank heaps of water in between that at the pee test at the Dr and the one at the Dr was very faint...so that could explain it...but will wait for the blood tests.
Have no option but to wait a week between tests...I work fulltime and the only afternoons my dr works is Thursday. Work is very stressful at the moment so at least it should keep my mind off waiting!
The blood lady (LOL) said that my tests should be in tomorrow lunchtime so I might give my Dr a call even though the Dr didn't day to...I'm going to be such an annoying patient! :-P
I think it sould just be faint because you are still very early. As the days/weeks go by it should get darker as your hcg levels go up.
I don't think there's much difference between a HPT & the doctors tests these days.
