Favourite birthday party ideas for miss 3

Hi all,
DD's 3rd birthday is coming up and I'm looking for interesting things to make and do for her party.
Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated

Face painting, the kids loved it. If you can get a friend or relative with talent to do it for you. We got a local lady who does the face painting at all the local events, she was so worth it as she also entertained the kids, extra bonus we were not expecting. I had a new bub, so it was really helpful and I could concentrate on the food for the day.

On the day the kids really enjoyed bubble blowing, plus there was music and a few instruments (tamborines etc) to play with. They also did the limbo.

I had my DD's 3rd birthday yesterday and all we did was pass the parcel and the pinata, the kids played heaps and had a BALL!!!

I did stuff my DD likes........I tried to get a prof face painter but she was busy (have seen her work before and she's great)........My DD isn't big on all the other games you play at parties, but she is only 3 lol.

In the end I wanted to make sure she had fun doing things she likes, I think we pulled it off!!!!! It was a VERY big day for us all!!!

Thanks guys,
I don't think B would be big on games yet either, and also there's going to be quite a range of ages there, I think.
So far I've bought a bunch of blow up balls on ebay, so I'm thinking they can run a-mock with those without doing too much damage (weather permitting - pray for a nice day for us!) and take them home instead of goodie bags.
Face painting sounds good, I'll have to look in Melb child to find someone, I think.

Treasure hunt! We had DD and her little friends searching for stars I'd "hidden" (in fairly obvious spots) all over the garden. We then counted how many each person got (the counting was a hit too, at that age) and then they each got a bottle of bubbles and straight into the bubble blowing part of the party.

Balloons and balloon games rate highly at this age. We also did a 'follow the leader' where the leader not only went around but also did things like being a train, a dog, a car, a dancer, etc. Lots of fun, minimal preparation ( you just have to have an adult willing to make a complete goon of themselves LOL).
