My DS is 7 weeks old and we have been having a few issues with his tummy. He always seems to have wind and is constantly trying to fluff. His poos are dark yellow but very mucousy. The paed thinks it might be an intolerance to cows milk protein so I've been completely off dairy (all traces of dairy) for 2 weeks. So far there has been no improvement.
I also read some of the symptoms can be related to foremilk/hindmilk so I've been feeding DS from only one side per feed for the last 4 or so days. Again there has been no improvement in his nappies or his comfort level.
His poo last night and again this morning both had small air bubbles in them. This is a new development and I'm at a loss.
Has anyone else seen bubbles in their little one's poos?
At around about the same age my daughter had the same sort of poo. It had tiny bubbles in it, like you described. I thought she might of had an intolerance to something, but after 2-3 weeks it passed and her poos were normal.
So I am not of any help really, but thought I would let you know that it could just be a phase he is going through. Maybe your milk has changed a bit and his tummy is still getting use to it... I am not sure. But it seems it was nothing serious with my daughter.
I've responded to/read your other threads and I understand you've had some supply issues - in that you've had an oversupply with very strong let down.
I've had similar issues and from the reading I've done "frothy" poos are due to an oversupply. When you're supply settles the poos should too. This is how its been for me and my DS anyway. Its tough but try not to express..... it will get better.
