Hi All,
thought I would be first for a change (he he) Well, our visitors have just left - 8.30pm and I am about to head off to bed, can;t be bothered staying up for the New Year. Glad to hear that you are all doing well.
Linda - wow on the sleep - I am sure Emma will stay like that the majority of the time now. Eden slept through las night from 6.30 to 4.30, then had a quick feed and stayed in bed til 8.00am. She is such a little Princess.
I am looking forward to being able to measure her in two weeks to see how much she has grown. The harness is getting tighter so she must be stretching!
My back is feeling heaps better thank goodness so I will keep up with the exercies and stretches to keep it good.
New Years resolution for me is to get fit again - both physically and mentally - get back on my game so to speak!! I would also like to do some kind of massage course so that I can help out my hubbie who gets very bad back and arm pain - he is a brickie. What about everyone else????
Happy New Years to you all girls - It has been great sharing a big part of 2005 with you and I look forward to sharing 2006 with you also..... maybe there will be more additions to the forum - not from me though!!!!!!! 8-[
HAPPY NEW YEAR
We had a nice night last night. We had some friends over for a few drinks. we sat and watched music max most of the night.
Jordan was so good last night. I fed him at 7.30 then he went to sleep about 9.30. He woke just before midnight so I gave him one side for 2005, went outside to see the new year in and the fireworks and then finished him off in 2006 and he slept again till 4.00am. he then slept thru till 9am.
We are still having 4-5hr feeds of a night time but that is better than 2 hrly so I am happy with that. I wouldnt mind a 6 hr sleep though. I am sure he will accomdate me with that one day [-o<
Hope you all had a nice night and that this year brings many joys for us all.
We had a really quiet one at my mums house but it is just nice to be around all my family. Bloody hot here in melbourne yesterday though. I miss the qld heat! its not as severe.
Today is my brothers 18th so we are having a bit of a family party today but the real one is next week
Better go, the princess is calling. Oh by the way!!! Victoria slept through for the first time last night!! Maybe this is the new thing for 2006(her resolution perhaps?)
Deancey - great to get those 4-5 hour breaks between feeds. I am sure Jordan will just keep stretching them out longer and longer. It is much better than two hourly feeds for sure.
Cindy - congrats on Victoria sleeping thru - did she party hard for New Years and tucker herself out!!!!!!! =D> I am getting used to the sleep thru's, not sure if Eden will keep doing them but I am enjoying them while they last. Edens day time naps re shortening though - she used to sleep 3 to four hours at a time, now she may go only two hours for one nap, three for another and her last nap before her big noght sleep is usually and hour. It takes a while to get used to their sleeping changes. No complaints here though.
Well, the weather here today in Geelong is very strange. It is raining here at the moment - quite a nice change although my three year old is scared of the rain and wind, so we have to keep reassuring him that it is fine. My DH and I love the rain, so hopefully Brandan will too one day!!!!
Astrolady, could I please have Eden's health details updated, Ta.
Health Concerns: Put in Pavlik harness at 9 weeks due to a lax right hip. Estimated to be on for 6 weeks. Slight eczema on face - aggrevated by the heat.
Tracey - Benjamin has more muscles than rolls. Especially his legs. He's constantly trying to stand up on people. He's going to be a solid boy when he grows up.
Well, I've missed out on quite a bit but I think I'll just catch up with this new page!
We had quite a nice xmas and new years. Louis has settled quite nicely and we've accepted his 40min day naps as he is now basically sleeping 7pm-7am with a 10.30pm feed and an early am feed. Although he has slept through for 8.5 hours once! At least I know it can be done.
He's getting so big! He's just found his fist and it is basically constantly in his mouth or if not its our arms etc. hehe. He is also lifting his head way up of the ground while he's on his tummy now too. He also loves standing up now with us holding him up of course. He can basically take his own weight though - just gets the wobbles alot - hehe.
The only other thing at the moment is he hasn't pooed for 3 days. I've heard this isn't a problem but he doing heaps of farts and he is really stinky! he he. Must take after dh!
Isn't this such a great time for our bubbas. They are so much fun at the moment and seem to be learning something new each day!
Kazzy - I didn't make it to New Years either - was in bed by about 11.30pm. I did enjoy a nice glass of wine first though! I'm with you on the getting fit thing - although as we'd been away we had no food in the house when we returned so new years day consisted of hungry jacks and fish and chips - not a good start - hehe. I have been accepted to do a certificate III in fitness at the local tafe but as it's two nights a week I'm unsure whether to pursue it this year. Along with work I think it may be too much and I'll miss my little bubba too much. I'm not sure what to do....
Cindy - Tell me about it - we got home and inside our house was 34 degrees!! Aaaahh - Lucky we got our air conditioner but it's only a little one so struggled a bit. Louis first night sleeping through was new years also! isn't that funny???
Kristie - I know what you mean about the body parts discovery. Benjamin and plays with his hands and watches his toes. He also likes to stand up, you should see his leg muscles... He already commando crawls. You're right though, it's a nice to watch them learn.
We made it to New Years, only because Benjamin woke for a feed at about 11:30pm and wouldn't go back to sleep til after midnight.
happy new year lovely ladies, bubs and dh,s.
we had a great night, went to a friends house in belgrave and slept for the night.it was soooo bloody hot though and they didnt have aircon,it killed me.chantelle slept through till 5 am though,i had a fan right on her and she was fine.i got 1 hour sleep on there floor baords as the bed i was in was too small for me and ds and he kept kicking me,i made it to 2am so got to see the new year in,only had 2 drinks.my new years resolutions were...
quit smoking
drink more water and less coke
make my husbands lunch every night for work the next day
stick to a budget.
i am happy to say that i have been smoke free for 2 days, have only had one glass of coke and made my husbands lunch for work tomorrow
YAY!!!! to me.
did you hear the goss that leyton and bec are prg again, dont know how true that is?????
taking the boys to the local pool tomnorrow as they are driving me mad staying home.
good to see you are all well.
nikki
Thank god the weather has broken! It rained nearly all day here yesterday - it was great.
We had a quiet New Years - shared a bottle of bubbly, watched a dvd and were in bed by 11.30. Got woken up by some fireworks though which we watched from the bedroom window...
Nikki - well done on your resolutions. I don't bother making them as I reckon if I'm serious about changing something why wait till new years to do it? Not that I ever manage to stick to resolutions no matter when I make them!!! ](*,)
Dylan found his fist a while ago too, so his hand is constantly slobbery now -yuk.
Has anyones bubs had green poo, antuslly more like khaki? Dylan has had a few bouts of it in the last week- it's horribly smelly too and there's a lot more of it than his regular poos. I had some tummy probs last week myself so maybe it's from me. I'm still breastfeeding him a bit before each bottle...
Kazzy - glad your back is feeling better. Mine's terrible atm as I haven't seen my physio for 10 days (I'm used to goin at least once a week!) but I see him tomorrow.
Well, Eden laughed for the first time yesterday. It was so funny. My DH, DS and I couldn't stop laughing. We got it on video too!!!! I was just gently blurting on her neck and she just let out this throaty giggle - she was doing it everytime I blurted for about a minute. SO CUTE!!!!! I will be glad when Eden has the harness off so I can let her take some weight on her legs - she doesn't seem that interested at the moment.
Nikki - good luck on your resolutions. Good ones to have too I think.!!
Donella - Eden used to have really smelly green poos a while ago - the nurse told me that it was because she was not getting enough hind milk and this can make the poos green and smelly - basically she wasn't feeding long enough off the one breast. Easy fixed - just got her to nurse onlger on the one side. I had a tummy bug Christmas Day and I think that Eden got it a little, but because she was breast fed it didn't really effect her at all.
Melissa - Benjamin really sounds like he is way forward for his milestones - commando crawling already!!!!!!!!! I am sure he will keep you on your toes too!!
Kristy - great to hear from you. Glad Louis is doing well - what A little champ. SLeeping sounds good to. I think aslong as they are happy when they are awake during the day then it is good - much better than being awake at night!!! Don't take on more than you think you can handle with the course either. See if you can postpone it until next year or even half way or just do one night a week??
We are off to visit my Mum and Dad at their caravan site tomorrow - the longest drive we have had so far - only a couple of hours. IT will be great to get out of the house for a longer period. My DS is really looking forward to it - he is going stir crazy being house bound!
Well, I am off to have some lunch and wait for my little princess to wake before I go to Physio. Hopefully I can gt some more laughs out of her - it was like Magic!!!!!!
Well it is confirmed I am back to work 30/1/05. I SOOOO dont want to go but need to go back for the money. I will be working mon, tues, thurs and friday. total 30 hrs a week.
Jordan has been sleeping quite well the last week or so and hoping it continues as I will be back at work in 3 weeks and will need my sleep.
Kazzy - yeah on the giggles. It must have been great for Eden to laugh and to have caught it on tape aswell, what a bonus.
We are getting heaps of smiles out of Jordan and loving that
dee73 - Glad to see you had a nice new years. Sometimes the quiet ones are the best.
Sorry its not a long one but have to organise things for my grandfathers funeral on thursday. He passed away day before new years eve.
Kazzy - Yay on the giggle!!! I cant wait for that! It must have been SO cute!
Kristie - Emma takes her own weight too, but also gets the wobbles. It is so funny when she gets the wobbles with her head - she looks like Fatty Vaughtin LOL
Well Emma has slept through for 9 nights in a row now! I really hope it continues, its great. She often wakes when I get up to go to the loo, I look in & she wiggles around, but doesnt cry, she must just go back to sleep (I guess she doesnt really wake right up). Emma's last weight gain was only 200g, I was a little worried at first, but she is doing fine & lots of wet nappes & poos & she is happy, so I guess it will all evem out in the end.
Linda - Wow on the sleeping through. I'm just hoping Louis remembers to do it again soon! hehe. Well, as long as she seems happy I'm sure everything is fine - what does your MCHN say??
We're getting Louis weighed again on Friday....
Tracey - You'll know it when you go back to work - dancing goes back for me at the end of the month also. In some ways I'm looking forward to it and in others I'm not...
Kazzy - Eden sounds gorgeous laughing! Thats great you got it on video.
Donella - No green poos here. Although Louis is now going anywhere from 2-4 days between poos.
Nikki - I would not have coped at all with that little sleep. How are you NY resolutions going? I can't imagine bec being p/g again already - she only had her baby dec 5 wasn't it??? That would be near on impossible you would think.
Wow Linda - 9 nights!! Dylan slept for 7 1/2 hours straight last night (from 10pm till 5.30) which is a record for him. I hope he can do it again tonight but I'm not holding my breath!!
With the Bec/Lleyton preg I don't think she would even know yet would she??? They certainly wouldn't have made it public yet as they waited the 12 weeks to make the first public...
I'm going to get Dylan weighed tomorrow. Last time he had put on 700g in 5 days but I think that was just catching up. He does seem to be getting bigger and heavier every day though! I guess he'll burn it off when he starts crawling!
