I had my 31 week growth scan this morning and the not so nice sonographer said while doing my measurements "I think your dates are wrong... bub measures 33 weeks"
She then asked me "do you have diabetes?" I dont but I think she thought maybe I do coz bub is bigger??
I am not to concerned - I was actaully very worried that bub was to small (due to helpfull ppl telling me I was small) so I was glad to know bubs was growig well.
Im not going to change my due date - Ill ask my OB what she thinks next Monday at my next appnt.
I have heard that the scans can be out either way - I shouldnt be worried should I??
i had the same issue with my son... they changed dated and he went post date then they decided to gop by the 1st date when i went over... i ended up going to 43 weeks from the original date... i was told the placenta was bad and any longer bubs would have been in trouble...
i say leave it to your ob... good luck i wouldnt worry. usually ist dating scans are most correct.
I agrees with AJP, the later the scan the more inaccurate.
When I was 28 weeks I was told that DD was so small they wanted to deliver her there and then for any chance of survival. I said no and demanded another ultrasound by a nicer/more qualified ultrasound person (person? ) and they did it again that afternoon, after sitting there some 10 hours, they were happy, said she was an adequate size and let me go home...
MY DD was born at 38.2 weeks weighing 6.6 pounds (2.98kgs)
Don't stress yourself over it, they are often wrong.

With my 4th one I was told she was going to be over 10lb and I was induced at just over 38 weeks. She was 8lb 31/2oz. While still being a good size not the whopper they told me. Don't trust the ultrasound as they can be way out.
Thanks Ladies!
Its amazing that scans can be out so far - you would think that the bigger they get the more accurate they would be...
Ill stick with my original due date - after all bub will make up its own mind!!
