Dilemma - bumgenuis or BBH bamboo

    Hi All,

I am in a bit of a pickle... been thinking about this the whole weekend and still are in two minds.

I am in love with my bum geniuses. When I leave DD overnight, she doesn't get nappy rash in the morning and the nappy is great.

However, I read that BBH bamboo is better over night, esp with the wool cover, so I purchased some.

When they came, I didnt like the fact that the wool cover felt soooooooo itchy! and then it hit me that i didnt like having to put 2 things on DD as well (nappy and PUL).

DD is a very wriggly baby when it comes to nappy changes. It takes at least 5 mins to change her.

So now, im thinking of returning the unwashed Bamboos but I keep changing my MIND!!!! thinking that I may need them in the future.

What should I do? What will your preference be for an all rounder nappy?

    Thanks in advance!

i love BBH bamboo , DS is in them all the time .. i love the fact that he can run around the house in a nappy and not needing a cover ... and also love the fact that BBH are anti bactrieal and anti fungal .. and you wont find that with micro fleece .. you will probably find that you will forever be changing your mind about nappies ..

and putting 2 things on bubs may seem like a hassle , but i find it more of a hassle to stuff pockets ... the wool covers will soften with lanolising .. if you like the wool but not the bbh wool , try a differnt wool cover ..

some ppl rate the BG highly , but others not so much , personal preference , but IMO i think the man made nappies dont last as long eg: BG's are all man mad matierals ( cept for bamboo inners ).. recently i had to toss the aio's i had as they arent as absorbent as they used to be ... where as ive had bbh for 2 yrs now and are fab!! even my dd wears them ..

    Thanks for the reply Charmalea!

I do love the feel of the bamboo BBH.

Also, I have noticed that the bum genius's inserts are already starting to rip on the sides (even though ive only used it like 3 times)

So, you've solved my dilemma. I will keep them and give them another try! LOL

    Cheers!

I use the BB Bamboo overnight with DD at the moment - and its great - I just use a normal PUL cover over her though..

I use the BBB during the day for DS and for naps as well - I use a really good heavy duty for night times though cos he is a major wetter!!!!! I rarely use the BB wool covers because they aren't very high in the rise - whereas I use woollen shorties or a soaker because their rise is higher, and they come with a drawstring, so I can tighten it up around his waist - over the entire nappy - if that makes sense?

But, I do use my BumG's for daycare for him because they are the easiest for the day care people....

So both have great usage in this house!!!

I'm another who loves the BBBs. I found them to be very absorbent and we had no nappy rash issues with them either. I think you'll find over time that you will be glad that you have them.
