    Cramping

Can anyone help? This is my first pregnancy and I am 7 weeks pregnant, I have these terrible cramps to the point that I am in tears. I cant do anything for about 5 to 10 minutes until it goes away but they hurt so bad. I dont have any blood so that is a good sign, I have been told its normal and I am not heaps concerned I am just wondering if there is anything I can to do to make them disappear sooner or make them not so painful.Help!!!

    You poor thing

It's pretty normal, your body is undergoing massive changes, and it's a good sign that you have no blood - the Dr usually says things are likely to be fine if you have no spotting.

This may be of no help to you but because of the excessive amounts of hormones that are raging at the moment it is possible that constipation can occur and that can result in awful stomach cramps. This may be too much information but my body simply will not listen to the extra amounts of fibre I am taking with cereals, fruit, water and metamucil! So my stomach is often a little uncomfortable with that type of cramping.

If you do get really worried and the pains seem a little too extreme it wouldn't hurt to talk to your Dr about it, better safe than sorry.
I hope I've been able to help

Good luck and congrats on your first pregnancy!
    Take care,
    Allyce.

    Congrats on your pregnancy!

Like Allyce said your body is undergoing some major changes at the moment. Unfortunately I don't have any advice on reducing the pain, but just wanted to say I had awful cramping for the first few months of my pregnancy, way worse than period pain, would stop me dead in my tracks. I can only say trust your instincts, if you think the pain is 'wrong' go to the doctor.

have you been constipated at all? or gassy? i got similar pains when i was about as far along as you and i put it down to those two things. as long as there is no blood then i think it should be fine. doesnt hurt to mention it at your next check up though.

    hi there!

i have to agree with the other girls...the cramping i remember was pretty awful. i would just lie on the bed in tears with pain and frightened of what was going on (darn it that i didnt know about BB at the time!! LOL!).

the constipation and gas thing can be part of it, also the uterus does some gymnastics in those early days and things get bumped and jostled.

    HTH!

Its hard to get used to and very unsettling I know. But I had the cramps almost all the way through my first trimester. I used a heat pack and if they got very bad a couple of Panadol helped. Try not to panic which is easier said than done, but your body is making some pretty huge changes to allow room for bubs. I used to think the more it hurt the more the baby was borrowing in nice and deep and safe. It gave me comfort. It will back off...
