    Mucus confusstion!

I am really confused!!! We have been TTC since May and with no luck so I have started to chat my cycle. All this talk of Mucus has me a little confused, I only ever get mucus once a month and its nothing like egg white, its tight and kind of sticky, it reminds me of that glue they use to stick things in magazines... is this an issue or could there egg white mucus happen but just not come out to say hi
Any advise would be great! Thanks

Mucous usually goes sticky or clumpy after ovulation so maybe work out where in your cycle you are getting this. If it's happening around the same time then plan to BD before you would usually get it.
You may not be getting any obvious external EWCM so try and notice if you feel more lubricated also.

You didn't say how long your cycle is so as a starting point count back 14 days from your last period and try to work out things out that way.

    Thanks for the info.
My cycle is a little strange, for the bast 4 years I have always got my period on the 25th of the month, I got it one Christmas and ever since then its always been on the 25th, until 2 months ago. Then it came 3 (so the 22nd) days early and then last month it came on the 28th, so I really havn't had a constant length. This is why I thought I would start temping, it's been a real eye opener as I discovered I O a lot eailer then I thought........ so here's hoping this month will be the winner

    Hi there Chow
Generally speaking Raven is right in what she is saying by counting back 14 days from the beginning of your last period to determine around when you would ovulate. Also some ppl don't even notice the CM (cervical mucus), there is a product called pre seed that some ppl on here swear by, so maybe if you are a little drier so speak you could try that, go to www.lullabyconceptions.com.au Although you don't think you are that regular, you are considering what i was like, mine went from early 30 right up to 50 something from one month to the other but i just perservered.

Best of luck, i hope this is your month also!

So what does thick, white, non-stretchy mucus mean - is this leading up to ovulation or already past it & now leading up to a preiod?

That's non fertile mucus - usually the type you'd see after ovulation or very early in a new cycle.

I really recommend the book "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Welscher - it's my charting bible. I've charted for 15 years on and off and this book has been there through it all It has heaps of info and also lots of sample charts that are really good for reference and learning.

Also check out Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com - they have charting "tutorials" that are great and you can also record your chart online so their software can help you interpret it.

    Good luck!

that CM you are describing may be your fertile CM. I'm no expert, but it took me a little while to work out what EWCM was - the description of egg white - well it refers to uncooked eggs so it's not actually white, but clear.

Sorry ladies, I'm confused as well! I have read so much and I am still confused about how many days I am fertile for and around which exact point I am fertile!

CM which is sticky and clear - if I experienced this today, does it mean this is my most fertile day? And if so, how long am I fertile for from this point? Or am I most fertile before experiencing this CM?

    Thanks!
