    Waking up cranky

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to stop an 8 month old from waking up from his naps cranky and clingy. He stays this way for a good hour and makes doing anything else very difficult. He has a good routine and sleeps fairly well but doesn't just wake up happy.

    TIA

A drink straight away? Just a thought, but my 2 year old can be a real krang til I get some liquid into him.

If you were talking about waking up cranky in the morning, well...I still do.

I'd suggest a b/f or bottle straight away as well.

My DS1 does this after every sleep. If he is really cranky I will put him back to bed to see if he will drop off again. Otherwise I will give him a cuddle for 5 minutes, give him a drink and something light to eat. I then try and distract him with some of his toys. After that he is usually a happy little boy again.

Dh says that I always wake up cranky! He brings me a cup of tea every morning and that helps

This seems to correlate to what everyone else is saying (And now I am wondering if I have the emotional age of 8 months!)
