hey ladies well just got home from having scan and seeing ob about cyst and i am bit pi ssed off to be honest, for a start we had a scan which was good but i could not see anything and she was not a very nice sonographer at all didnt really explain anything or what she was looking at it for,she gave me us two pic waste of time not very clear and can not really tell what it is i am so ,anyway then we got to the ob well my usual one is away so got a stand in one and he said that it is a dermoid cyst and they will be looking to take it out as it is getting bigger (4.9cm three weeks ago to 5.2cm today) but would talk to my normal ob and get back to me then this other doc comes in and said no we will give you another scan at 32wks and go from there, talk about know how to confuse a women jeees if i was not angry enough
But i have had a talk with Bryce and we have decided that if they say they want to operate at 32 weeks to take cyst out then we are going to ask them to wait til 36 weeks and then give me c section and take it out at same time,i am not risking going into prem labour just because they want to take it out if you can understand what i mean.
Sorry this turned out quite long just wanted to update you all anyway so it just waiting for scan in another 6 weeks.
T,
I am so sorry you had a disappointing visit. It seems to be common practice that some synographers have bad attitudes. I do understand how you feel. Can you book another scan in before 6 weeks just for peace of mind? I was disappointed with our 19 week scan and that basically helped me make my decission to get the 4D scan done which is meant to be this Sat but has been moved to the following Sat instead.
As for the cyst. I am with you on that. If its not causing any harm to you or the baby I would be wanting to leave it there and ask them to remove it when they do the C/S. If they were worried about it you think they would want to take it out now, so it must not be too problematic.
Try to calm down though cause bubs will feel that and might upset him. maybe shout yourself a nice foot massage or something
Oh and i thought i was the only one to get ****ed at a scan!
I had my 20 week scan last week and the sonographer was extremely uninformative & when i asked about if she can tell what the sex was she didnt really try. Her response was it could be a girl and shut everything off. Well that set me off for a few days!!!
I know i should be grateful that bubs is progressing well but at my 12 week scan the sonographer was so lovely and when asked if she could see what sex even though it was a bit early, she pointed out the 'bits' that indicated a boy.
My bub was a surprise and since i dont want another surprise i'm off for a gender scan this Sunday to know once and for all.
The only god thing, aside from knowing that everything looked ok, was that my mum could see her new grandbaby for the first time. Just that Mum had to listen to me rant for days!!! Lucky her!!!
With your cyst, i agree with your view, if it is not urgent wait and have the c-section.
Keep your chin up and thnxs for the rant. At least i know that other people have a ordinary experience.
Were you having a C/S anyway? If not - I fully understand waiting until 36 weeks to have the cyst removed, but they'd probably do laparascopic surgery to remove it, and a C/S is much bigger surgery. This way you'd leave your options open but still have the cyst treated.
no i was planning on a jay jay birth like last one was and no it would not been lap surgery because i was am oreg they need full open surgery and as soon as they touch the utuers there is a chance of going into premature labour that why i want them to wait and do a c section and take it out, also they have not told me really what it is so i dont know what will happen if i do go naturally what the contractions might do to it,as much as it annoys me i am just going to have to wait, and see what my ob says if i have not heard i might ring them and get her to ring me and talk it over properly.
