Just purchased my first MCN's today (Bumgenius 3.0) to try on my 2yo and then my newborn (due Feb)... but need help-
1. Stuffing the poket nappy- what are the snaps for on one of the liners? Is this to make the liner smaller for the newborn? If this is right, which end does the thick bit go? presumably at the front????? and Are the 2 liners used together just for night?
2. Washing- How many times do I need to wash before using? Do I dry them in between washes or just run them through the machine several times AND what do I wash in? Can I use woolwash as it is mild, or do I need Lux soap flakes or something else?????

Ok I will try and answer as best as I can (well as much as I have learnt so far)

If this is right, which end does the thick bit go? that is what I presumed they were for. When DS was a little smaller I only had to fold it down to the first snap. Now we don't snap at all.presumably at the front????? I put the folded bit at the front cos boys pee more towards the front, and with DD will put it toward the back because girls pee more backwards.. so to speak.and Are the 2 liners used together just for night? I actually wouldn't use the BumG for night use unless you put it together with a bamboo booster - and then would only use one microfibre and a bamboo booster.
2. Washing- How many times do I need to wash before using? Once - microfibre only needs one wash as they don't increase in absorbency.
AND what do I wash in? Can I use woolwash as it is mild, or do I need Lux soap flakes or something else????? I wouldn't use wool wash unless it is wool, and lux (i think) are farrrrr too soapy to wash MCN"s in.
I just use amolin to wash mine in - and with 1/4 - 1/2 the recommended amount.
