How Early can you find out the Baby's Gender??

    Hi Girls

I have a random question. What is the earliest that anyone has found out the babies gender. This is our first bub but we really want to find out the gender so that we can get organised.

I was just wondering how early they can tell or how early any one here has found out?

    Thanks

    Alana

Its best to see at the 19-20 weeks scan. Although some people have managed to get a view of the gender at 12 weeks if they sonographer is highly experienced.

The 20wk scan is the best but lately I have heard of a few finding out at the 12wk scan

The 18 - 20 week scan usually, but as far as I know they can tell from about 16 weeks.
I've never heard of anyone knowing at 12 weeks unless they had an amniocentesis.

I found out at 16 weeks because I had an amnio.

Most women find out at the scan around 20 weeks but sometimes bub doesn't co-operate and closes their legs and then you can't find out at all. Most places that do scans will not tell you any earlier than the morph scan.

I had two scans around 16 weeks and there was no discussion whatsoever about the sex of the bub. It's just not something that the better scan places will discuss that early.

Determining the sex by ultrasound is not 100% accurate though so they do still get it wrong occasionally.
