    Calculating due date..

i had a quick squizz, but i couldnt find a thread to help me..

i used the BB due date calculator, but i was confused where it said Cycle & Leutal (sp) im not 100% what that means, so im not sure if my date is accurate! i just left the default numbers in there, and entered my date.. is this correct?

also, i never realised it was calculated using the first date of your last period!
i really have only basic knowledge of the whole ovulating thing, ive never paid much attention to it to be honest!

    Hey Rach - Congratulations!!!!

The cycle is the number of days from day 1 of AF to the next day 1 of AF.
Luteal phase is the number of days from when you O until day 1 of AF.
    Does that make sense.

Generally though the doc will work out the date from 40 weeks after the first day of your last cycle - if you know when that was of course.
Otherwise they will take bloods to give a level to estimate and send you for a dating scan.

    Hi

If you haven't taken much notice of when you ovulate etc - don't put anything in the luteal phase, or leave it at the average which is 14 days. Just use your average cycle length eg 28 days.

Just remember too an EDD is just that - an estimate - I wish the obstetric world would agree to make it EDW - estimated due week!!!

    Good luck hun.
