dont know where to start!!!!

Hi girls.....
im fairly new to BB and am sooooooooooooo confused.....
im getting married in march and we are planning on TTC either just before or on our honeymoon..
but we r unsure we to start....
ive been on the pill for about 6 years now and have herd it takes ages for it to leave ur system and for you to be regular again.....
we are obviously wanting to get up the duff asap from when we TTC...
am not sure wheather i should cut the pill before the wedding- say feb- and start trying or if i should wait until after the wedding and just b patient????
i also have no idea about tempting and all the other who har that goes with TTC!!!
its not just as easy a horizontal dancing is it!!!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Sam,

I went off the pill 6 months before we were TTC to get my body back to normal after 6 years. I have PCOS (which we discovered 14 months after stopping pill!), which is making it difficult to TTC. However, for a healthy female you can start TTC straight after going off the Pill. Things to think about:

1. Start taking Folic acid 0.5mg. you can get this from the pharmacy. you need to start at least 1-3 months before TTC, so is a good time for you now.
2. Now is also a good time to see your GP for blood tests like rubella, chickenpox, Hep B, Tetanus, Pap smear and also to get advise on genetic history of both families. Good idea to get a general health check for (soon to be ) DH as well.
3. I found charting helped me understand my cycles better. Specially when coming off the pill, it can help you see when and if you are ovulating. Now is a good time to start as you will already have charted a few months and become more aware of your body and can therefore pick your fertile time easier. fertilityfriend dot com is a great site to get you started (free).
