I am a newbie to BB.
But it feels like everyone here is in the same boat!! and can help me!
TTC for past 3.5 years with ivf/ICSI (DH's poor swimmers)
By now we had 5 full stimulated cycle so far and 5 FET. and a m/c in Oct 07
Been doing Acupuncture and TCM for 1.5 years now.Was diagnosed pco early last year! and then started DH on Menevit for 4 months and I took baby aspirin this cycle(immunology testing done early this year with no abnormalities!)
My question is should I keep going on with another cycle/s or ask my FS to make some changes?I feel absolutely devastated today! Have left noting that I could try anymore! any suggestions please?

Not sure what you should do next but I think definitely seeking alternative ways which unfortunately might mean further tests My FS said that if after 5-8 transfers and still BFN then further testing is required to work out why there is failure to implant.
I don't know what to say as I feel so much for you.
i know how you feel about what to do next. this is my question at the moment. just when you think you are doing everything you think you could possible do and that things are going to work this time for sure, you are shut down in flames again.
friends and co-workers are always supportive but no-one except us "reproductivley challenged" can actually understand what you are going through. but yet we still struggle with the right words to help.
i had my first IVF in August and am having some time off to loose weight, before going back in January for a FEt. this is my new challenge. i have tried chinese medince, naturapaths, acupuncture, quiting my job, exercise, baby asprin and am now onto health and weight. plus all the nights of research and books!!
seems like you need to have something to blame for things not working.
i would suggest you seek some adivce on changing whatever it is you are doing. it could be something so simple that your FS is not seeing. if you live close to other FS specialist that is. or maybe you FS could make some changes. but i am sure he is trying his best. i live in cairns and we only have 1 FS. he is a very busy man!!!
so good luck with you motherhood path.
showers of baby dust on you both.
bye
Hi Milie,
I'm sorry that you have not had any luck after so long, i can only imagin how hard that must be.
Reading your story, I guess that I would be asking your FS for a full review of your case and treatment to see if there is anything new to try - have you tried blasts? I would also be getting a second opinion from a different FS - maybe fresh eyes are needed, esp from one who specilises in PSO. Where are you from, as I think that the Royal Womens Hospital in Melb has a fertility clinic that is set up for women with PSO. Also, from what I know from my FS, getting the all clear on immunology tests are pretty common - which is why they normally do them after many failed transfers - as they dont often show something up.
I know that the emotional (and financial) stress of keeping going seems overwhelming sometimes, but you and DH are young so there is hope that you will achieve your BFP.
Kahlan-Thanks for your kind words.I have my next appointment with FS on Friday. I hope he has something in store for me!!
I am on the verg of giving up otherwise!!
Kittycat
I think I might take a break and see what options i have !!
I am holding on to one thing only that we had success with blast transfer last year..unfortunately did not last long!! But now the trouble is we did two fresh cycles after that and ended up with day 3 transfers..!!
I hear you kittycat about all the "research" in the night and reading every small bit of information to solve the problem! but nothing seems like working!
I am hoping that my FS is not giving up on me thinking "too difficult case"!! all though my experience with him so far has been very good.
enjoy your time off with healthy food i think I need to treat my self with some good food too!!and hopefully your TTC journey is short.
Farmgirl
I was with Royal womens for my first two cycles(6 transfers!) but no luck there. so moved on to Monash Got BFP first time but did not go all the way!
I am hoping that my FS gives me something to help with implantation!
thanks everyone for being so wonderful to me! it was much needed.
Millie,
I am so sorry to read of your truly tragic journey. I can well understand your despair. I feel that way on many a day!
I would certainly be asking your FS about other options.
You may also be interested in looking into NK cell testing. This is NOT done by anyone in melbourne and is actually frowned upon by many Victorian FS's.
I am under the care of Lynn Burmeister at Monash IVF and fortunately have found her very open to any new suggestions. I don't have implantation problems but reccurrent m/c which can have similar causes. There are two Drs in Sydney who are researching an testing for NK cells. Took a flight to Sydney to be tested but was worth it for me as i did come back with a positive result for elevated NK cells. Still can't be sure this is the cause of my losses but i will be on treatment (predisolone) in my next cycle and praying it brings me a live baby.
My FS ,as I said, is quite open to new theories and recently told of a patient who came to her as she wanted to try prednisolone treatment after 13 failed blast transfers. Her previous FS was a "non-believer" in such immunological theories, hence the change. Lynn agreed to the proposed protocol and on the 14th blast transfer, this lady became pg and carried to term on predisolone.
Not saying this is the answer for you but may be worth grilling you current FS on ALL possible treatments whether proven or not. If it was me, I would not be happy to keep doing the same old things if its not working
