Righto so I am confused! According to my accountant I was entitled to a return of $1500 this year including FTB. then last night i get a call from FAO telling me that i should be getting another $3400 for something else that i dont understand FTB/CCB(my bank a/c details changed and i didnt update it so it bounced - oops!)
Now i get my tax refund and it is for $460! and the FTB component of my return is the missing amount from that $1500....I am confused....
am i just stupid?? or did i not claim properly.....i assume that the $3400 includes the $1000 or so that i am missing from my tax refund....so...why claim it on my tax return if they are going to pay me it differently.........
I got mine in seperate amounts... it didnt all come in one big amount.
I got my TAX back in one amount, then the next day I got my FTB and CCB.. I'm not sure if it always comes the next day for everyone, maybe it doesnt and you'll be reciving it shortly.
Did they send you a letter as well to tell you how much you would recieve and what it is for? Maybe the extra is your CCB, or the quarterly CC taxrebate?
Do you use the online system for FAO/Centrelink? If you do, I'm pretty sure you can log on and see when your payments are due.
it sounds like your accountant has tried to tell you total amount but hasn't taken into account that fao/ato payments aren't always paid together
chances are you have a top up from fao (which is more than your accountant "guesstimated") plus your child care rebate for 07/08. if you have online services, you can possibly see it, but if it's confusing, call up and ask for an explanation...
your accountant may have only taken into account overestimation of YOUR income, not your partners kwim?
