My barely 6 month old baby is furniture cruising! In the last three or four weeks she has gone from lying there like a cute, gurgling little lump to commanding crawling, then real crawling, sitting herself up and as of this morning is now hauling herself up onto her feet and taking some very ungraceful steps around.
I can't believe she's doing all of this so quickly - I'm sure she's trying to keep up with her "big" sister. Does anyone know if babies can develop too quickly? I'd hate to think her poor little bones were being subjected to too much stress.
Hi hun,
The age range for cruising is 6-12 months, so your little princess is early, but not too early.
As with anything, if she is able to get up and do it herself then shes ready
My second was crawling at 4.5mths old and by six months was cruising as well as walking on her knees (you know, like when you get down on your knees and shuffle around). I don't think there is a time as *too early* because if they weren't ready to do it, then they physically wouldn't be able to kwim?
My DS was exactly the same, rolling at 5 months, crawling at 6 months and cruising the furniture not long after- and he got up and walked across the room the day he turned 10 months and he has been walking ever since. I think like you he was desperate to keep up with his big sister.
