Only getting portion of $1000 payment for new born

i was on the phone to FA and they said that i will only get a portion of the 1000 for my new born (born 28th Oct) does anyone know how they work that portion out ?

will find out for you tomorrow. i was under the impression that there was no payment at all for anyone who's baby was born after October 14th, so i'll have to email a friend and ask

ok, here's the criteria (from the Family Assitance Website

Can l get the additional payment?
You can get the payment if, on 14 October 2008:
You were receiving fortnightly payments of Family Tax Benefit Part A; or
You were entitled to Family Tax Benefit Part A, but you chose to defer your payment to the end of the year under a More Choice for Families option; or
You were receiving fortnightly payments of Youth Allowance, Abstudy or a Veterans' Children Education Scheme for a dependent child.
Please note: If Youth Allowance is paid directly to your child, the additional payment will also be paid directly to your child.

from what i read there, there is nothing for Chelsea, only for your DS. i would assume that what they are talking about when they say about a partial payment is actually your supplement at the end of the financial year (the "$600 per child" amount) - you will be paid for the number of days your child was in your care

That right there is nothing of the bonus paid for a child born after that date.
