    Probiotics and babies

    Hi All,

I have read a few threads and articles saying probiotics is good for babies (and can even help with eczema).

Is it safe for a 7mth old and is there scientic facts (and not just here say). Also what brand should I go for?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi. I took my daughter to a naturopath for her eczema when she was 8m and she (the naturopath) gave us some probiotics for DD to take. I can't remember the brand, but there definitely was a difference in the amount of different strains that were in it, compared to ones that can be bought at any chemist etc. I can't say whether they had an effect really as we were trying so many different things at the same time, but they certainly didn't hurt her.

My DD took some when she had thrush when she was younger. They were froma naturopath pharmacy and are called Neocare made by Phytocare and is specially for babies. You could also feed her pot set yoghurt. Particular brands have a very high number of good bacteria and other brands have very low amounts.

    Fast Tract

1ml dose for babies, its great for you too. Its organic, grown from fruit and vegetables, some other brands are fast tracked from faecal matter... grose. Its very very potent too, and it's probiotics so cant hurt you.
