The Department of Human Sevices is looking for consumer reps to discuss the following key areas:

* Special Care Nursery (SCN)- looking at reasons well babies are separated from their mother, for example after a Caesarean birth or a jaundiced baby. It would great if the consumer had experience of this. This project will develop standards, audits, and clinical guidelines
* Induction of labour (IOL) - developing standards, audits, and clinical guidelines
* Vaginal Birth after Caesarean (VBAC) - developing standards, audits, and clinical guidelines

If you are interested please contact Faye (details in email below)

This is an opportunity to make a difference.

Hi all,

I need to find some informed consumers who would represent the following 3 key areas for the Maternity and newborn clinical network expert working groups.

Special Care Nursery (SCN)- looking at reasons well babies are separated from their mother, for example after a Caesarean birth or a jaundiced baby. It would great if the consumer had experience of this. This project will develop standards, audits, and clinical guidelines
Induction of labour (IOL) - developing standards, audits, and clinical guidelines
Vaginal Birth after Caesarean (VBAC) - developing standards, audits, and clinical guidelines

There would be a time commitment of:

attendance at weekly meetings for 8 weeks and communicate electronically (Nov, Dec, Jan)
attendance at fortnightly meetings x 3 meetings after the audits have been conducted (April- June)

Renumeration for the consumer would be as per DHS policy guidelines.

Just to clarify with the special care nursery the consumer cannot be in reference to a prem baby who has a clinical need to be there, but after C/sections etc where there is no clinical need for the baby to be in there and thus seperated from its mother.

My phone is 53346083 if you need to contact me, however I will warn you all - I am hopeless with the phone and email is best for me

Ta
