    My Time is Running Out......

I am 37 years old. In January of this year I was diagnosed with Endo Stage 2. Ever since the operation I really have felt worse and everyone said that I would feel better. My periods are longer and painful, very heavy and clotty I am feeling very depressed and it is effecting my everyday life. My stonachis constantly bloated. I am dong everything I have been told to. My diet consists of just salmon, fruit and vegetables. I dont eat wheat, yeast, dairy, alchol, coffee, sugar. I got engaged in July this year to a wonderful man. It is such a blessing because 2 years prior my husband then left me after tellig me he was gay. They say that stress plays a big part in this endo? is this true? I guess I have had alot of stress. i just want to start feeling better My wedding is about 60 days away and I am scared that I am going to be unwell. Everyday is like pot luck. I am at my wits end. I feel so sorry for my fiance, we still haven't even been able to celebrate the engagement properly. He is turning 40 and I am 38 next year, I feel like I am going to miss out on having a baby. I am seeing my doctor next week to discuss what do I do from here..... Has anyone else in there late 30's been in the same situation. I feel like I am so alone, all my girlfriends are mothers, I have no one to share with, who knows what I am going through and I am feeling more and more isolated.

I may be only 23, but I know how it feels to think you will never hold your baby in your arms

I think that, while conception problems are more common these days, a lot of women still don't know how to react when it effects someone they know. All I can tell you is, you've come to right place here! The only problems you MIGHT have is stopping the BB addiction

Have you tried natural remedies? I believe both have their place, and it's sometimes surprising what a naturopath will find when a doctor has given up. Once you start feeling healthier, you probably won't be as stressed either

And last of all, congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Enjoy the upcoming weeks and years, and try to see yourself as your fiance does - you'd be surprised how much confidence you'll gain!

dlrsummer, firstly congrats on your upcoming wedding - hope its a perfect painfree day for you.

Secondly can I recommend you contact / see a dr in Sydney that specialises in endo , he is fabulous. Dr Michael Cooper of Macqaurie Street Sydney. He is not cheap but IMO the very best and he is close to you so I thought I would mention it. I travelled hours to see him and would do so again in a heartbeat.

He has a website, google M J Cooper or ECCA and that should find him.

He is not only a gifted surgeon but he has the best bed side manner that I have ever seen. His communication skills are second to none - which is a major bonus when it comes to a gyno (as lots in my experience have little to none).

I am truely blessed... thank you for the reminder I will continue to believe and STAY POSITIVE... Thank you

Hi Joel's Girl! Thank you so much for writing! I can't believe that you said Dr Michael Cooper! I was a bit depressed last night and had, had enough and started to do some research, I came across his website, sent and email requesting appointment last night and then I rang this morning. I have an appointment on the 3rd Dec!! It must be a very good sign that you sent through your message! I must say that I am NOW VERY EAGER for this appointment. Thank you for caring it means so much

That is awesome. I'm sure you will feel even more positive after the appointment in December. I was referred to him by other members on here a few years ago. My local gyno had given me the choice of a full hysterectomy or a 6 month course of horrid drugs to address my increasing endo problem. They sang Dr Coopers praises so much that I thought well one more doctor can not hurt. But he is not 'just' another doctor. He has a passion for curing endo and has devoted money / time into further research etc....

I'm over the moon that you are seeing him so soon. I don't want to get your hopes up but I was pg 8 weeks after surgery with Dr Cooper and then fell very quickly (whilst breastfeeding a 9 month old) with our 2nd. This is a common result of his, I truly hope that you have the same speedy success.

Please let us know how the appointment goes.

Out of my mind.... back in 10 mins.

Hi, I have been fighting endo all my life!! I have been on nasal sprays, needles, and all kinds of hormonal tablets. Only to give up in the end and just say that I will live with the pain and no kids. With a huge weight gain that never came off.

Well that was untill I fell preg in 2003 (could have knocked me over with a feather). I was too frightened to tell friends untill I was 16 weeks (I only told my hubby and my mum to begin with). I was soooo careful all the pregnancy as I had done all the reaserch (probably knew too much about what could happen).

As soon as I had DD in my arms I was trying for another as it took over 14 yrs to get her. I was blessed to fall pregnant in the following Nov (10 months later. Even though every body told me that I would fall straigh away).

As you can see by my ticker I have not long had another DD.

Please don't give up!!! It is worth the fight when you have the baby in your arms. I had to do everything to get pregnant and then to keep this baby. I was admitted into hospital 7 times during my last pregnancy. During that time my hubby lost his job as he was having too many days off to look after me/kids.

Your lucky to have a man who loves you and supports you. My hubby has been to hell and back with me. He has helped me with my treatment with depression also.

Before I go, a word of advice - too many D&C's can cause more problems.

Good luck with your Gyn visit in Dec, I hope to hear your good news in the new year!!!

    Take care
    Chris

    Dlrsummer,

I'm another woman in a similar position to you - due to infertility issues (PCOS and male factor) sometimes I wonder too if I will ever fall pregnant.

However I am not ready to give up yet despite the fact I will be an older mummy when I do fall.

Maybe have a look at the Older Woman's TTC chat thread here to connect with women in a similar situation to you.
