SInce the start centrelink have given me the run around, conflicting information, under payments etc...
I am on a parenting payment and made sure that when DP had changes to his wage I called them and advised them. I was told that this did not impact my payment and that they have recorded it anyway.
Fast forward to now... almost 2 months later... I get a letter in the mail, I owe them $400-.
Turns out, 1/ The guy I spoke to had noooo idea what he was talking about (I was no longer entitled to the payment during this increase in pay time) and
2/ he had not recorded that the call ever happened.
Now it is my work against theirs and I have to pay it back, due date December 17th! Merry Christmas to you too!!!
if you have details of the time of the call (approx date etc) and the likes, you can appeal it. you an also make a payment arrangement. it doesn't have to be paid in full by due date if you dont' have it.
i will suggest this to everyone - get a receipt number for every call! even if they don't document the call (which they should) a receipt number marks on your file that it has been opened. the only way a consultant can't provide you a receipt number is if they have given you generic info and not opened your record
