How old to start losing baby teeth?

My 4.5 year old DD has two loose teeth! They are the two bottom middle two teeth, and I was just wondering at what age did other's kids start to lose their teeth?

It was just a little bit unexpected that they would be loose this early on, I thought they didn't start to lose them until about kindergarten age (5 or 6 years old)??

5-6 is an average but 4.5 is a little early-ish but it may take 6 months for them to loosen enough to actually fall out!

5-6yo is pretty normal and as AJP said, they might just be preparing themselves and take a few months to fall out

My daughter just turned 5 a couple of months ago, and she has 5 loose teeth! I was also surprised - I wasn't counting on them being loose for another year. They do seem to be progressing slowly though - takes quite a while for them to get looser. There's just one that's really ready to come out, but she won't let us touch it.

Thanks for the replies ladies The 2 teeth are gone! The first one got eaten with breakfast on Tuesday and the second one got eaten with lunch yesterday despite constant reminders to be careful with it falling out and to tell me if it did. Oh well....what can you do? LOL

Anyway we have a couple of lovely new big teeth already growing up behind where the old ones were, so at least the process was natural in the end, despite being a bit early And she looks pretty funny with the big gap there Hopefully it will be a while now until we lose some more!

Wow - that went fast! Your DD must be pretty excited to show her friends and family the big hole. Mine sure is! You can check out the tooth fairy discussion here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...oth-fairy.html if you want some ideas on that front.
