Panadol urgent help

DD is teething pretty dreadfully at the moment, so I tried to give her a dose of panadol just before bed. Well the cheeky monkey spat half of it out!! So I've put her to bed with a little bit of Brauers, If she wakes shortly & needs something stronger, I'm a bit uneasy about giving her more panadol as I dont know how much exactly she took in. So my question is, can I give her nurofen instead?

panadol & nurofen work in different ways - so you can alternate them.

BUT! if you're really worried, call the health nurse hotline.

yeah you'll be fine to give her Nurofen. Panadol and Nurofen are made of different medicines, I used to use them together and Panadol would ease a fever and Nurofen would calm inflamation

You've probably tried everything but thought I'd ask if you've any gum numbing gel? Bonjela etc? like what was suggested earlier too, if ever in doubt, you can call the medical hotline. Hope your little one stays in dreamy world for you and her

I give my DD nurofen, it works really well. poor little girl. I also use SM-33 gel on my DD, I hope it's not too bad of a night, thinking of you xx

May I also suggest an amber teething necklace? (PM me if you want details). since Pip wearing one, he's only had panadol for teething pain a few times - eg I can count on one hand. Prior to that, it was quite regularly.

personally I wouldnt give both nurofen and panadol I have known of cases where there have been bad reactions. I am going to get an amber necklace for sure, Tara's started teething just now. I prefer not to give my babies nurofen until they are over 1 year old. Im just over cautious I guess as I cant take nurofen as im asthmatic.

I would be more inclined to give another dose of panadol over nurophen. You can always double dose panadol with no problems. Doctors will tell you to when bubs has temperatures. But Nurophen can stuff up their kidneys if used too much. I only ever use it in extreme cases and i think that has only been once in DS's life.

I personally don't use nurofen.. i don't even have it in the house..

as for panadol.. I would just wait the 4 hours and regive if needed..

not sure if it would work for you but when my DD is a bit out of sorts and I *think* it is her teeth I give infants friend.. it helps with wind, settles the tummy, and can help with teething..

and its cheap and natural
